I checked my watch. "Is it okay if I take my lunch break now?" I asked nervously. It was the first day of my job as a pediatric nurse and I didn't want to make my supervisor think I was being lazy.

"Of course!" My supervisor said in her usual chipper voice. She gave me a pleasant smile as I walked to the waiting room. Luke should be here any minute now. I felt nauseous, and I didn't know if it was because I was nervous or because of why I was nervous. I leaned forward against the receptionist desk trying to think about how I was going to tell Luke. Every bone in my body felt weaker and weaker with every attempt I scratched off the possibility of ways.

"Hey Aaliyah, my gorgeous wife," Luke said as he wrapped his arms around me from behind. He startled me. His hands met at my stomach, as if he knew. Instantly my worries went away and a smile appeared on my face.

"Hey babe," I turned in his arms to face him. "You're all sweaty. How was practice?" I asked rubbing the sweat away from his eyebrow.

"It was rough, Coach Rivera was hard on us today," he explained to me. "How has your first day been so far?" He asked. He tilted his head showing he was curious and that he wanted to know every detail of my day.

"Pretty good. The cutest little girl came in and she asked me to make her 'ouchies' go away," I explained. I puffed my lower lip out to show my sympathy to the girl. "Wait. Which way did you come from?" I asked suddenly confused.

"I came from that way," Luke explained pointing down the hall to the left where the newborns slept. I nodded.

"Oh. Didn't I tell you? That way is faster," I said pointing to the right. If you came from the main entrance, coming from the way I told him to would have saved him a few long hallways to walk down.

"Yeah...... I got lost," Luke replied running his hand through his long curly hair. He had been growing it out because the team was growing beards for playoffs, and he didn't look as hot with a beard.

"Oh. Are you ready?" I asked. He was taking me out for lunch in honor of my first day. We were lucky our lunches matched up and that we could go to lunch together.

"Yup. I'm starving," Luke answered. His much larger hand wrapped around mine. He led me down to the main entrance that was near where he parked. I was right, it would have been faster coming up from this way. It wasn't that big of a hospital how could he have gotten lost?

He drove to Olive Garden, our favorite restaurant. A petite waitress led us to a table near the back of the Italian restaurant. "What looks good?" Luke asked flipping through the pages of the menu.

"Everything," I answered. I was starving and wanted all of the food from the menu to magically appear in front of me. Eventually I decided on some kind of pasta. Luke and I got the same thing, we ended up doing that by accident everytime.

"I have a confession," Luke said sheepishly. He put his glass of water I his lips before divulging me in his secret.

"Oh? What is it?" I asked. My eyes widened and I leaned forward into the table to show him that he had my full attention.

"You know how I told you I got lost?" He began. I nodded my head intently. I was intrigued, he wasn't lost after all. "Well I came from that way on purpose," he continued.

"Why's that?" I asked crinkling my eyebrows together.

"All of those babies just laying there really got me thinking," Luke said.

"What did it get you thinking?" I asked as my heart began pounding.

"I want a baby, Aaliyah. I've got baby fever real bad," he said in almost a begging tone. I smiled at him maybe a little too widely. "Why are you smiling like that?" Luke asked, he must have been a little creeped out.

"I've got the cure for your baby fever. Doctor prescribed," I said. I couldn't believe how worked up I had gotten over this 40 minutes ago.

"What?" Luke asked knitting his eyebrows together in a confused fashion.

"I'm pregnant Luke," I blurted out.

"You're what?" he asked a smile creeping upon his lips as he finally showed understanding to what I was saying. I just nodded my head.

"I'm pregnant," I repeated. He instantly stood from the table, almost hitting his head on the lighting fixture above. He quickly scooted next to me on the booth.

"How long have you known?" He asked resting his arm on the back of the booth and the other hand on the table.

"A few days. I was scared to tell you," I confessed. Babies were never something we discussed and I had no idea how he would react.

"You were scared? Why would you be scared? This is the best news I could have ever gotten. I've never been happier!" Luke said gleefully. His beaming smile was yet to leave his face.

"You mean that?" I asked glancing up at him.

"I mean it, we are going to have a family. This is unreal," Luke said inching closer to my lips until they finally met. I could always count on Luke to make me feel better and there was truly no one else I would rather have my baby with.

I'm so glad you requested this! I loved the scenario aaliyahxhuggins
