Jordan’s P.O.V
After what felt like decades of being held by Stiles, it was time to head over to Derek’s. We were both due to meet at his in a little bit, meaning that Stiles and I had to leave at this exact moment if we wanted to make it to his on time. Although I didn’t want to leave at that exact moment, the feeling of his arms around me and his body so close to mine was a feeling not much could explain.
My thoughts couldn’t help but drift off to Stiles’ mysterious girl, who continued to be un-named. Although I knew better than to ask Stiles’, he was yet to talk about her again after the night he stayed over but I had decided to not ask unless he wanted to talk about her. Other than the unknown facts of this girl, I enjoyed Stiles’ company. There was something about his touch that would take away all my problems and I would forget about them. It was a reviving feeling, one that I found happiness towards.
Stiles had stood up, his outstretched hand waiting for mine. Slipping my hand in his, I noticed that it fit perfectly. Slowing getting up with the help of Stiles’, I mumbled a small ‘thank you’ whilst dusting off the dirt that may be lingering on my butt. Not long after getting up and off the rocks, I jumped at the new voice that seemed to appear in the picture. “Fancy seeing you here, Jordan.” As if mimicking each other’s movements, Stiles and I both turned around to see Aidan.
I can feel the blood within me freeze due to the terror Aidan walked around with. I watched as a smirk grew upon his face as she stared at Stiles, taking a quick glance at the boy beside me I can see that his jaw was clenched. It was as if they were both having this telepathic conversation only the two of them had. “What are you doing here, Aidan?” I asked, trying to break the tension between the two. I knew for sure that if they both were to fight, the scary Alpha male in front of me would win in a heartbeat.
Taking his eyes off Stiles, he gave me a sickly sweet smile as if conjuring something up in the messed up werewolf brain of his. “I was on a stroll down the path,” he answered. Pointing to the cement pathway that seemed to run alongside the rocks that surrounded the lake. “You’re welcomed to join me,” his voice made him sound like he was so much certain that I would agree. I opened my mouth but closed it again after someone had already spoken my thoughts.
“We have somewhere to be actually,” Stiles piped up beside me. Pulling me lightly behind him, towards the car. “Don’t get lost, okay buddy?” Stiles taunted before patting his chest lightly causing Aidan to glare ever so funnily at Stiles.
Once in the car and out of earshot, I let out fits of giggles before allowing myself to full on laugh. Allowing Stiles to stare at me as if I deserved to be put in a mental hospital. “Why are you laughing?” He asked me before I waved my hand at him, telling him I wasn’t quiet finished my laugh fest.
Stiles, on the other hand, continued to stare at me with furrowed eyebrows and his mouth wide open.
Moments after I had calmed down a bit, wiping a few stray tears that allowed themselves to stream down my face. Looking back at Stiles I can see his face was still full of confusion as he waited for me to say something. “Why?” He said simply, his arm outstretched adding more to his confused persona.
“Aidan’s face,” I told him letting out a few giggles. Understanding as to why I had been laughing earlier, Stiles let out a few chuckles himself.
A while after silence seemed to float in between us and I allowed my thoughts to stray away and onto the moment Stiles and I shared back at the lake. My heartbeat racing quicker and quicker at the feelings I received when Stiles’ had encircled his arms around my waist, if the Doctors were to check my heart rate they would think I was high. Although I was high, high off the feelings I had towards Stiles. “Thank you,” I said so suddenly that even I didn’t know I had said. He looked at me for a few seconds before returning his eyes towards the road but within those few seconds I could see he gave me that same look he had on earlier. Confused. And as I continued to stare at him, I let my thoughts conjure up and come to the conclusion that it made him extremely cute.
“For what?” He asked me and at that point, I had not idea what I was thankful for. There had been many reasons and I couldn’t allow my self to specify which one I was thanking his for.
“Everything,” I said quietly before sliding my hand into his and bringing his soft skin to my lips. Letting them linger on his for a few seconds, savoring the sparks that ignited between the touch that we shared. Placing his hand back on his lap, I retrieved my hand back onto mine. From the corner of my eye, I could see Stiles giving me a side smile before taking my hand in his and leaving it there to sit on my lap.
“No, thank you.” He said, taking his eyes off mine and onto the road once again whilst mine were glued onto out intertwined fingers that seemed to fit so perfectly with one another.
For the duration of the ride, my eyes remained glued onto our hands and jokes about Aidan filled the air. Before we both knew it, we were already so close to Derek’s. Disappointment washed over me knowing I would have to untangle my fingers from Stiles.
In the back of my mind pictures of Stiles and I ever becoming a couple, made butterflies erupt in my stomach. Maybe, just maybe, I had a chance with the sweetest guy on earth.
But some things are just too good to be true.
