Stiles' P.O.V
Eery. The only word that my mind was able to conjure up while I stared at the torn up building in front of me, Motel Glen Capri, the name lit up across the front above what I could only assume was the front office. "The meet has been postponed and this is the only motel that could except you idiotic dimwits, so please act as if you're all well mannered I don't want a knock on my door at two in the morning so I could be informed that one of you is misbehaving." Coach yelled, you could slightly hear the disappointment in his voice when he announced that our meet had been postponed. For the past two weeks, all he could talk about was the meet and the fact that we were going to take home most of the metals. "Pair up, boy and boy, girl and girl." He ordered, holding up about ten pairs of room keys.
My peers around me buzzed into conversation as they paired up before grabbing a key from the cold-hearted man in front of us. My eyes left the bright pink lights and onto Allison and my brunette beauty, while stalking off the two of them talking so animatedly about something only they knew about. Whilst watching the both of them, I didn't dismay Scott's presence that appeared alongside once again this time our room key in hand. The rusty metal figure, attached to a specially carved metal key chain with our room number attached to it. "Do you feel," I paused my tongue searching for the right word to describe my feelings at this exact moment. "Weird?" It wasn't exactly the word I had been looking for but it definitely was close to what I was feeling towards the haunted looking place.
"Kind of," Scott answered unsure of himself. Looking back at the torn down building, I felt my toes curl in horror and my stomach drop at the sight in front of me. As much as I told myself that we would only be staying for one night, my body still felt the fear crawling up within me. This was one hell of a creepy motel and everyone knew it, even Coach. "If you're that scared, you can just cuddle with Jordan!" Scott teased, making kissy faces at me. His actions only receiving a slap to the arm from me, even though the idea didn't sound too bad.
"I'm not scared," I argued. "But I'll gladly cuddle with Jordan." I told him, letting the grin on my face grow at the thought of my girlfriend. If I were anyone else, I would've taken this as an opportunity to fulfill some sexual intentions but I wasn't just anyone, I was someone whom respected their girlfriend so much that staring at her was just enough for me. Although, if Jordan wanted to get intimate by all means but until then I will continue to enjoy the feeling of her in my arms.
"You're not going to try anything on her, are you?" Scott asked, skeptical on the question. His eyes burned into mine, looking for a deepened meaning behind them. If I he weren't my best friend, I would've thought that he was after Jordan himself but I knew better and he was happily in love with Allison. Scott had already warmed up to Jordan since day one and from then on he saw her as a sister not just his girlfriend's cousin, so I had no reason to be jealous.
Putting a hand over my chest, I faked the emotion of shock a little taken back by this question. Scott knew that I would never try anything ever, I was too much of a wimp to do such a thing but unfortunately for me Scott was the protective type so questioning me made sense. "How could you think so low of me?" I asked, giving him a small smile. "Jordan and I just started dating, I wouldn't push the thought of having sex with her right in her face. I want to take things slow. And when that time comes it won't just be sex, we're going to be making love." I told him truthfully, which earned me a heartfelt smile from Scott.
"You love her already?" He asked me, the both of us making our way towards the stairs that lead to the upper part of the building. The rusty metal stairs creaked with each step, the sound of rain drops fell onto the ground as the stairs shook off the pool of water that was forming in the dents of the steel.
Shaking my head, I let out a sigh. "Honestly," I paused. "I have no idea. I've never been in love."
"Do you think you'll fall in love with her?" That question definitely caught me off guard, seeing as though I've never put much thought into the two of us loving one another. It was just the beginning of our relationship and we weren't even past the one month mark, unlike Scott and Allison who have been dating for about a year. I wouldn't say that it would be impossible to fall in love with Jordan, I'm more worried that she wouldn't feel the same way I would.
What's it like to fall in love?
How do you know you're in love?
I doubt you just wake up one morning and realize that you're in love, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that.
Was I in love with Jordan?
I obviously have no idea if I am and neither did Scott or Allison or Jordan. How am I suppose to know if I'm in love if I've never been in love before?
"Stiles, give it some time. You don't have to think of it now." Scott reassured me, snapping me out of my thoughts making me realize that we had already arrived at our room door. With the key in hand, he slipped it through the electrical handle the beeping sound indicating that we've unlocked the door and we were now granted access.
The room was nicely made, there was a television box at one side of the room. Opposite of it were two neatly made bed and a wooden nightstand between the two, that contained the motel phone and a lamp that could barely hold any light. Compared to a two star hotel it was nothing but considering this was a motel, it's nice. Which happened to be the only world that I would describe this damn place that was in the middle of no where.
Scott had claimed the bed further away from the door, jumping onto it digging his face into the fluffed pillow. "The girls are in 216," he stated. "Do you want to see them now?" He asked me in a hopeful voice, from the look in his eyes I could see he was anxious to see Allison more than I was to see Jordan.
"Sure," I answered propping my bag up against the wall by the door. "Let's go!"
