Jordan’s P.O.V
Walking up to school alongside Allison, I wrapped my sweater tighter around my body feeling the fall wind through my leggings as I tugged on the sleeves of my cream knit sweater. Unfortunately for me the pieces of clothing weren’t doing any justice because through the fabric I could still feel the cool breeze.
Fall had now been coming into full display, the leaves were beginning to change colours and fall off the tree branches while the once hot air was not turning into chilly weather. Even before stepping into school, talk about the big game this evening was hitting the halls. The excitement and anxiousness bounced off the walls as each an ever mouth trash talked the rival school.
Unwillingly, my mind had drifted off to Stiles. Last night I had been up tossing and turning, even if I were placed in a comfortable position nothing would get my mind off the mere millimeters that were placed in between our lips. It was actions like these where I could say; we were both so close yet so far away. Throughout the night, it was being able not to kiss him that bothered me the most but as my mind splayed through the evening events anger started to burn through my veins. At the end of the night, or in other words early morning, I had come to the conclusion that Stiles had just been toying around with my feelings and as much as I didn’t mind the sweet simple actions he was doing towards me, I couldn’t afford a broken heart only for him to leave me in the dust and not mend the pieces.
“Jordan,” Allison said. Snapping her two fingers in front of my face, taking me out of my thoughts and turning my attention towards her. “Did you hear what I just said?” She asked, her voice showing so much concern for me. Deciding whether I should tell her the truth or not, I gave her a fast head nod. After seeing that she had given me a look, one that told me she knew I was lying, I shook my head slowly. I hadn’t even known she was even speaking until she had asked me if I heard what she just said. “Okay, what’s wrong?” Allison crossed her arms over her chest, coming to an abrupt stop. Chewing on my bottom lip I had suddenly become nervous, not for the fact that I didn’t want to tell her but how I would be able to tell her. It was either tell her straight up or ease the information slowly into her mind. So I did what I though would be easier.
“Stiles and I almost kissed.” And that was blurting it out.
Allison’s eyes went wide in shock, her jaw dropping at the mention of my words. The expression that had been painted on her face stayed that way for a while, until she realized that she hadn’t said anything yet but I didn’t expect her to say anything anytime soon due to her look of surprise. “What happened after?” She asked, anxious to know the reason to why we didn’t kiss.
“Scott walked in,” though I tried to hide the disappointment in my voice, I couldn’t. It was on full display for Allison to hear and I knew she had heard; due to her soften eyes and pouting lips. Taking in a deep breathe, I took my time collecting myself back together before turning on my heels with Allison falling into step beside me.
“I’m glad it didn’t happen,” I said blankly. Even though every sing word tore my heart even more, I knew that it was for the best.
“Why?” Allison breathed; from the corner of my eyes I could see a hard stare at the side of my face. Instead of looking back at her, I kept my eyes straight forward and onto the faces of the students ahead of me.
