I walked through the door of my house and kicked off my heels. I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. I grabbed a bowl of fruit and walked down the hall to the theatre. Nobody lived with me so the house was pretty quiet. My mother lived on the other side of town which was perfectly fine with me. I turned on the projector and plopped in da bean bag chair.
"Whic to watch??" I asked myself while flipping threw Netflix. I finally decided on watching Love&HipHop.About three hours later......
"OOO SHE DIRTY!! " I yelled throwing cheetos at the TV. "DON'T TRUST HER GIRLL, I'M TELLING YOU SHE EVIL."Yeah i know you didn't expect me to be like this. But I act like "ME" when I'm alone, and honestly I'm a very fun person not a stick-in-the-butt celebrity.
I felt my phone vibrate under me and picked it up.
"Hello?" I answered eating more Cheetos.
"Are you ready??" My mom asked threw the phone.
"Huh?? I asked raising an eyebrow.
"YOU HAVE A CONCERT AT 8 MISSY." She yelled .
I tossed my phone on the floor, and stood up. I could still hear her yelling about how irresponsible I was and that I needed to get my head together blah blah blah. She eventually hung up and the doorbell rung. I sighed and turned off the TV. The doorbell kept ringing as I walked towards the door.
"IM COMING." I yelled opening the door.
"Go get dressed, FAST." My mom said stepping into my house.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my phone from the movie room and walked back to the door.
"Umm shoes." My mom said looking at my bare feet.
I pointed beside the door to my shoes laying in the same place that i left them.
"Looks like they're more ready then you are." She said turning around and walking to the car.
"You cant talk about being ready, you'll hop on any horse." I mumbled slipping on my shoes
The ride to the Grand Coliseum was quiet, very quiet. Me and my mom didn't really talk unless it was about concerts or fashion shows things of that sort. Our relationship was strictly business. Which I didn't want and wish I could change, but it's too late for that now. I got out the car behind the coliseum to avoid paparazzi and fans. The rush when I walked in was crazy. I was swarmed by make-up artists, dresses being held up to me, and the stage director giving me directions.
"Why weren't you here on time??" Roshiur, the stage director shouted.
"Being lowsy." My mother said rolling her eyes at me.
After i was taken into my dressing room I asked to be alone before the show started. I slumped down in the chair and sighed. I'm tired of being a celebrity, I'm tired of doing shows here n there and not having time for myself. I don't even have friends anymore. A tear fell from my eye and i quickly wiped it away as I heard the door open.
"Eternity they are ready for you." A lady with a headset said. I shook my head and walked out of my dressing room. From behind the curtains I could hear screams see bright lights. I took a deep breath and grabbed my microphone as I was introduced. After the concert I was rushed, once again, back into my dressing room. I was put in a long navy blue sequence gown with the worlds most expensive jewels. I'm not gonna lie, the jewels are amazing but it wasn't me. I, personally, didn't see the need to wear expensive things when the cheaper things look exactly the same no one wouldn't notice the difference. More makeup was applied and my lipstick was fixed.
"Eternity, com'on your cars here." My manager/mom said from the door. "You need to hurry, security is tight.
I slipped on my heels and walked up to my mom. She just stared at me"what?"
"Aren't you going to say I look pretty?" i asked raising my freshly arched eyebrow.
"You look moderate, now go we're late." She said fixing her skin tight red dress with red and black leopard print stilettos. " You're a loooong way from pretty baby girl."
I marched to the car with security and got in. I didn't even bother with my fans or the cameras. It hurt that my own mother couldn't give me one measly compliment because of her ego. In my opinion she was the worst mom, good manager, but worst mom. Tears stung my eyes but I quickly blinked them away when I heard the car door open.
"Ok so Jen Karen is going to interview you at this event, so BE POISE. And please don't say anything stupid." My manager/mom said putting on lipstick. "And don't answer any questions about the Pepsi endorsement yet. "
Her talking turned into a faint voice as I toned her out. She was really irritating and the fact that all of these 'important' people are going to be at this after party isn't really relaxing either. For once I'd like to be the one of many people who can just talk to people and be themselves not repeat a rehearsed speech that their manager had made them repeat several times.
