Just a warning, some parts of this chapter might get a little violent, so if you're uncomfortable with that kind of stuff, you have been warned!

Anyways, enjoy. :)

Frisk was doing better with the puzzles. She had finally made it past that colored tiled maze. The solution seemed to be the same every time, so she didn't die anymore.

They still had lot puzzles to go through though. There was a puzzle that was a bunch of X's on the ground. Frisk had to go over all the X's and make them O's. They were all on ice and she only stopped sounding when she hit a letter. If she didn't press them in the right order they would slide off and fall down to their death. The first time they fell Frisk screamed for Flowey. He tried to reach back up with his vines, but he couldn't get a hold on the slippery surface and so down they fell. Frisk died a few more times before they made past that puzzle as well.

The last puzzle they went through was just a bridge. They started to walk. The drop was dizzying. Then, to make things worse, all kind of dangerous thing appeared and hung around the bridge. There was a canon, fire spikes, and a dog hanging from a rope for good measure. Frisk sprinted across. She had a burn across her face and many cuts on her arms and legs. She was about two feet away from solid ground when the bridge fell out from under her. Flowey shot out his vines again, and this time they latched onto the ground, and Flowey pulled the two travelers up.

Frisk ate a cinnamon bun to heal her cuts and burns. She did not want to have to go through all those puzzles again, so she thought it was a good time to practice saving. After dying so much, she had been trying to make save points for herself so that she knew the exact time and place that she had saved.

Frisk reached into her SOUL. It sounded weird, but she didn't know how else to describe it. She reached in and gently pulled a tiny wisp of essence from her SOUL. She let it float up into the air, then settle on the ground. Save point. Frisk was filled with DETERMINATION.

"That's not bad for me is it Flowey?" Frisk asked. "I mean, it doesn't hurt, and I'm not tired or anything after I do it. It doesn't feel like it's killing me."

"I honestly don't know Frisk. I used to have the power you have now. The power to save, to reset. When you fell down here, I lost that power. Not that I mind. I actually didn't like it that much. I think I gave that power to you. I never really made save points come to think of it, but when I did, I definitely didn't make them like that. I think that you should be fine kid. You're tougher than you look."

The small compliment made Frisks heart feel a little lighter. She really loved that flower. Sometimes he seemed grumpy, and acted like he didn't really like Frisk, but she really hoped that he did. Sometimes he would be so nice to her, and helpful too. Sometimes also the exact opposite. He seemed to be getting nicer though. She hoped he stayed that way. She liked the nice Flowey.

After she had saved, they started walking forward. Frisk decided to talk to Flowey. They didn't really ever have casual conversations. She wanted to get to know him better.

"So Flowey, how old are you actually? Do monsters even have birthdays and stuff like that? Do they grow up at all?"

"Of course we do Frisk. Monsters just grow up at different speeds than humans. Technically, I guess you could say I'm almost a kid. I'm not very old for a monster, but for a human, well, let's just say I'm pretty old. Time is kind of messed up here, so it's hard to tell how old I am really, but I'm not very old for a monster. How old are you kid?'"
