We Finally Meet

There were not many streets that branched off from the one they were walking on. Only one caught Frisk's attention. It was the biggest one. It had a creepy feeling to it that pulled Frisk closer to it for some reason. There was something hidden here, she could tell.

"Let's look down this road for a sec," said Frisk.

"Ok, but only for a little," said Sans. "We can't get lost and we should probably get to the king soon." He seemed to notice that there was something down there that Frisk really needed to see.

They walked down the path. It was fairly short and straight. It led to a worn down gray building. Carefully, they walked inside. The room they stepped into was long and thin. Frisk chocked in shock when she saw what was inside. From the end of the room to where she was standing were seven coffins. They all had a different colored SOUL on them. The one closest to her had a red SOUL on it, just like hers, and it was open. All the other ones were closed.

"A-are those the coffins for the humans that were killed before me?" asked Frisk, her voice shaking with fear.

Flowey and Sans just bowed their heads in answer.

"I-I can't see anymore," said Frisk. She ran out of the room and back up the road.

"Frisk!" called Sans. He ran after Frisk and Flowey and caught Frisk's hand before she could run any further.

He pulled her into a hug. "You're going to be fine," he comforted her. "You're stronger than any of them were. I've never seen anyone as strong as you."

Sans was a little too rough with the hug and it kind of hurt a little, but it made Frisk laugh. He probably hadn't had much practice hugging. It was alright though. He did make her feel better. She straightened up and wiped away the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes.

"I'm fine, let's go."

After a little more walking, they made it to a huge door. It was just as gray as the rest of the kingdom, but there was still something grand and majestic in this door. There were many fancy and intricate designs on it. It was the only thing in sight that hadn't been vandalized or destroyed even the slightest bit. It wasn't even that dirty.

They pushed open the door. Inside was the most beautiful sight Frisk had seen since Waterfall. It surprised her. It was like stepping into a whole different world. Inside was a huge garden that was almost overflowing with golden flowers. They looked to be the same kind Flowey was, except they weren't alive, like him.

In the middle of the garden was a huge golden throne. No one was in the room at the moment, and so the trio took the free time to quickly look around. There was another doorway at the end of the room, behind the throne. Next to the door was another object that was covered by a tarp. It was ripped in a few places, as if in a fit of anger, someone had cut it repeatedly with a sharp object.

Then Frisk heard footsteps and in walked a huge figure. She grabbed Flowey off of the floor from where he had been looking at the throne and carried him over to Sans, where they all stood in a tight group facing the king.

The king was tall and broad, very muscular. However, his face almost looked kind, or at least it had been. There were scars on his face, and it was twisted in an expression of anger, hate, and sadness. He looked like he was miserable, but still willing to hurt. He snarled and then lifted up his arm. A huge trident materialized into his grip in a flash of light. He pointed it at Frisk.

"You," his voice was deep and rough. "You are the last one to die. Then we can be free and get our revenge on the humans for doing this to us."

Sans then moved in front of Frisk. "You're going to have to kill me before you ever get to Frisk." he said, getting in a fighting stance.

"Oh yes," said the king lazily. "The rouge monster who is helping a human even though they are our sworn enemy. Hmm... something must be done about that," he mumbled to himself.

"I won't fight you," said Frisk. She was prepared to go into this fight and do as she had before. All monsters had a good heart, just some were covered in more darkness than others. All you had to do was peel off the layers to expose the good part. Frisk knew Asgore was good. From the stories Flowey had told her, he was a kind king, who actually was kind of shy and caring. A good king.

The fight started. Frisk felt her SOUL being gently pulled out into the open. Sans came into the fight as well, standing in front of Frisk to protect her. Frisk hoped he wouldn't hurt Asgore.

Asgore shot balls of fire towards Frisk. All of a sudden, Frisk flashed back to the RUINS, when she had fought with Toriel so that she could escape and go to the surface. Toriel had used the same attack. Frisk was just as helpless now as she was then. She remembered all of the RESETS and and pain she had gone through, just to escape. She was going to go through all of that again, only worse. She knew. She felt like crying.

Before the first fireball hit her, Sans dissolved it with a flash of light. That's right, she had friends now. Ones she trusted. Flowey had been with her in the RUINS, and he had tried his best, but now she had Sans too. Sans would help her. He would protect her. She would be safe. She would be alright. As long as he was here. She swallowed her fear and stepped towards Asgore. She would do everything in her power to help her friends. She would set her friends free. She was determined.
