Frisk fell back onto the sofa and stared at the wall, her arms crossed. She was't happy, and wanted Sans to know that she wasn't on his side. Not yet.

"Why is it so hard to get to the dumb castle?" Frisk complained loudly, to no one in particular. She was in a bad mood and didn't feel like thinking about anyone else.

"We made it close before Alphys got to us," said Sans, trying to smile at Frisk. Frisk just glared at him and turned to Flowey.

"Do you know the quickest way there Flowey?" she asked him.

"In Mettaton's resort, there is an elevator that takes you right to the castle. You might have seen it, it was in the main lobby. Who know's if it's still working though. I doubt it, considering the shape of the resort."

"It's worth a try anyways," said Frisk. "Who knows, maybe we can fix it somehow. I just want to get to the castle. I want everyone to be happy, and to be able to have a..." Frisk stopped her sentence.

"And be able to have a what?" asked Flowey.

"N-nothing," said Frisk. She bit the inside of her cheek and looked down at the ground. "We should just go at the time when there's not a lot of monsters around. Is there a time that is best for that? The less monsters we go by, the better. We'll head to the resort and try and take the elevator from there."

"The best I can figure, the quietest part should be in about an hour. I have an idea too, we can travel quickly without anyone seeing us. There is this rumor about a monster that ferries people to the different regions of the underground. They wear a dark hooded cloak. No one has even seen what they look like or who they are. They carry anyone though. They would take us right to Hotlands. There's a place we can find them close to here," said Flowey.

Frisk nodded, then put her head down on the couch and closed her eyes. She knew that Flowey would wake her up when it was time to go.

"Hey Frisk, been a while huh?" asked a voice.

Frisk looked up from the darkness to see Chara looking at her. "You look pretty terrible don't you?" she sympathized. "Wanna try and fix you up a little?" Frisk just shrugged. She hurt, but she didn't care. The pain helped her keep a grip on reality. Lately that had been getting harder and harder. She felt like she was slipping into the black pit with the force that had grabbed her and pulled her away from her friends.

Chara seemed to figure out what she was thinking. "Why don't you take a look at yourself first," she offered. Then you can decide what you want to do. I could at least clean you. You're pretty dirty." she grinned at Frisk, and Frisk returned with a smile. Chara was growing on her.

Chara snapped her fingers and Frisk appeared in front of her. It looked like a clone, but when Frisk reached out her hand, the figure dissolved where her hand was. Frisk stared at the person in front of her. She wasn't a very vain person, and usually didn't really care what she looked like, but even Frisk had to admit, she looked pretty terrible.

There was dried blood in the corner of her left eye, and dried blood on her cheek and knee. Her shorts were ripped and dirty. You could barely tell what color they were anymore. Her sweater was fraying and wearing down in many places. Her hair, that had been messy on the surface, was tangled and matted, a nest on her head. Her eyes looked tired and lonely. She was starting to give up. It was so hard, and she was so weak. Frisk checked her left eye. There was a pale white circle the size of a pea on the white part right next to the bridge of her nose. That must have been another place Alphys had taken a sample. Frisk looked at herself and felt like crying. She looked nothing like the Frisk she had known before. This Frisk was broken and tired, and that wasn't the person Frisk was at all. It wasn't the Frisk that she wanted to be.

Frisk looked over at Chara sadly. "Do I really look that terrible?" she whispered.

"I'm going to give you all the things you need to make yourself feel better. I know that if you start to look clean, happy and fresh, you'll start to feel that way too. You'll find a change of clothes, a brush, and things to clean yourself with in your backpack when you wake up. Just as a gift, to show you that I'm on your side, and I'm going to help you. Don't give up now. You've been wonderful. Now get out there and renew yourself."

Chara smiled, and then gently pushed Frisk away from her. Frisk fell backwards, into velvety oblivion.

Frisk woke up and jumped up immediately. She hadn't realized how long it had been since she had last looked at herself, but now that she had, she hoped what Chara had said was true. "If you look good, hopefully you'll start to feel good too."

Frisk ran over and grabbed her backpack and ran to the kitchen where she found Sans. "

Do you have a bathroom?" she asked impatiently, anxious to clean herself up. Plus, now that she thought about it, she really had to go to the bathroom.

Sans looked up, surprised. He seemed to be staring at something in his hands, but he put it behind his back as he turned around, so Frisk couldn't see it.

"Uh yeah, we have a small one upstairs. We almost never use it, so go ahead."

Frisk nodded and ran up the stairs.

Frisk opened the door to a small but clean bathroom. Frisk relieved herself quickly. There was a sink with a big mirror above it. There was a small shower in the corner, which kind of surprised Frisk. She hadn't really thought that they would need one, but she was grateful that they did regardless. She turned on the hot water and when it was ready, stepped in. She stood in the warm water for a long time, scrubbing everything off of her. It felt so good. When she looked in her backpack for shampoo and conditioner, she saw that it was her favorite kind, the kind that she had used on the surface. Just the small detail from home made her feel so homesick that she wanted to cry again. It was so nice to smell like she had before. When she got out, she found a brush in her backpack. It took her about fifteen minutes to brush out the mess on her head, but after many minutes of mumbled curses and pain, it looked like her hair again. She changed into a clean pair of shorts and a t-shirt, which had the same striped pattern as her sweater had.

She smiled at herself in the mirror. Chara was right, she was feeling better already. She packed her brush and other things back up, and headed out of the door, ready to face this world head on.
