A/N: Okay, I'll be putting a little Easter egg in this chapter for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fans out there. It's crucial to the story; I hope all you Potter fans don't mind. :)

Maddie's POV:

Remus and I had been traveling up high in some rocky mountains after few days of walking through wooded area. I wasn't tired of living in a tint and partially off of the land yet. For me it was a well needed break from the stone walls of Hogwarts. "Wake up Maddie." I heard Remus say from outside of the tint. I had already been away; I was just busy getting ready. I walked out of the tint and the smell of wood smoke hit my nose, along with cooking eggs. "Where did you get those eggs?" I asked him curiously. "There was a quail nest not too far from here, I figured we could deal with a little more energy this morning." He said as he cooked the food. I took a seat in one of the makeshift chairs we had maid when we set camp last night. Suddenly an owl came flying down towards us, and wondered who could have sent us anything way out here. When the owl came closer, I realized it was Ash. "What are you doing all the way out here girl?" I asked as I petted her. I took the note off of her leg, but she didn't fly away like owls normally did.

Dear Maddie,
I'm so sorry for not writing you; I just now got your letters. I decided to use your owl because she has a connection wit you and she can find you easier. I hope you don't mind sweetheart. Everything is going well here at Hogwarts, even though Harry almost got killed by a dragon in the tournament. Okay...maybe it hasn't been going so well, but I have faith that he'll make is out of this alive. I hope you and Lupin are doing well. Make sure to keep an eye on him, the full moon is coming up soon. Maybe you should make him a wolfsbane potion. I can't wait to hear from you and see you again. Have a lovely day darling; I love you.

I smiled at the letter; I thought he had either forgotten about me or was just to busy. "Is that from Severus?" Remus asked curiously as he handed me my food. "Yeah. He says Harry is doing pretty well in the Triwizard Tournament even though he didn't do so well with the dragons." I replied. "Well that's good." He replied as he took a drink of his coffee. I ate my food and wrote Severus back, using my owl. "We better start moving. I heard that we're suppose to get a storm later today; I want us to cover as much ground as possible." Remus said as he put the fire out and we started packing up are camp. We started back on our adventure and I wondered how farther we'd have to go to find a griffin. "Remus, how much longer do we have to travel?" I asked him curiously as we started walking up a rocky trail. "We have to get over this mountain and down into the valley. If we're lucky we might catch a griffin on top of this mountain." He said in a hopeful tone. "Young lady, come to me. I can give you what you seek." I heard an elderly man'svoice say, but I wasn't sure where it was coming from. "Did you hear that?" I asked Remus as he too stopped and looked around. "Yeah, it sounded like a hawk." He replied. "What? No, it sounded like a man." I replied. He furrowed his brows and then it seemed as if an idea hit him. "Are you able to turn into various animals?" He asked with an excited look in his eyes. "Yeah, I can actually turn into a griffin." I replied. "Maybe one's calling to you." He suggested. "Possibly. Let me transform." I said. I focused hard and turned into my griffin form, which surprised Remus a great deal. "Come to me." The voice said again. I followed the sound of the man's voice and Remus followed. After a while we came across a wide stream that was too deep for Remus to cross, so he climbed on my back and I flew over it. I have to be honest, it felt strange having someone ride on my back; now I know how horses feel. The clouds began to gather and turn a beautiful dark gray color. "We better hurry Maddie. It's getting ready to storm." Remus said. A cave came into view, and the sound of the old man's voice got stronger as we walked closer to it. "We're here." I said as I turned back into my human form. "Are you sure?" He asked curiously. "I'm certain." I replied. We made are way into the cave and light the tips of are wands to reveal an aging griffin. "Hello, are you the one who has been calling me?" I asked kindly. "I am." He replied. "Could we have two of your feathers please?" I said hoping he wouldn't refuse now that we were here. "Of course, I barely have any use of them now. I'm getting old and frail. These feathers will help you make an antidote to Nagini's venom." He said as he scratched two feathers loose and gave them to me. I hadn't realized how big griffins are, not to mention how large their feathers are. "How did you know what we were making?" I asked him curiously. "Dumbledore informed me and my kin of your journey." The griffin said. "I see." I said. I glanced towards Remus, who was oblivious to the conversation we were having. "You and your friend may stay here for the night. A bad storm is rolling in; I can't have the both of you getting sick. You must journey back in good health." The griffin said kindly. "Thank you sir." I said with a slight bow of my head. "Remus, he said we can stay here tonight." I said as I took some items put of my sack. "Excuse me, do you know where we can find some lily petals? It's not spring, and we need them for the antidote." I asked the griffin after Remus and I unpacked a few things. "You must see Radagast the brown." The griffin said. "What did he say?" Remus asked me with questioning eyes. "He said we'll have to see Radagast the brown." I replied. "Who's that?" Remus asked curiously. "He's a wizard, but he's from the hidden world. A place as magical as Hogwarts actually. There are trolls, goblins, orcs, elves, dwarves, hobbits, and humans. The creatures there aren't the same as the magical world you're use to Remus; it's far more dangerous than you think." I said. "How do you know all this?" Remus asked with wonder, curiously, and a hint of suspicion in his eyes. "Because my great grand parents are from there. They've sent me books and many other things about the creatures and wizards in their world." I said. "You mean they're still alive?" He asked. "Of course they are, they're elves and elves are immortal. They can't die unless they get severely wounded." I said. "You're full of surprises Maddie, and I'm very grateful you're on are side of this coming war." He said with a smile. "Where can we find Radagast?" I asked the griffin curiously. "You have to go to the portal in the valley, and when you come out on the other side look for the crooked house." He replied. "Thank you." I said kindly. "Goodnight, humans." He said before he walked to the front of the cave and curled up. The rain was poring down like crazy outside, so Remus and I built a fire to keep us warm. "Here, read this." I said handing Remus a book from my bag. "What's this?" He asked curiously. "All you need to know before we go to the hidden world." I said as I settled down to sleep. "Do you expect me to read all of this tonight?" He asked with wide eyes. "Absolutely." I replied. "Just like Severus." He said with a slight laugh. I smiled and before long I drifted off into a deep dreamless sleep. The next morning I woke up to Remus making breakfast, like usual. My owl came back without a letter, but I wasn't surprised to be honest. Suddenly an idea hit me. I grabbed a piece of paper and started writing. I needed Hermione to get Severus to make a blood replenishing potion. If she couldn't get him to teach it, then she could learn how to make it herself. That was a second potion curtail to me saving Severus. When I was finished with writing and sending the letter I ate breakfast with Remus and we headed out.
