Some Years Later

Maddie's POV:

"How's dinner coming sweetheart?" Severus asked me with our daughter Jade wrapped in his arms. "It's coming along well." I replied. "When did Harry say they're coming over?" Severus asked as someone knocked on the door. "Actually, I think that's them." I replied. "We'll get it, won't we Jade?" He said snuggling his nose up to hers, which made her giggle. My insides melted at the sight of Severus Snape holding our daughter and being criminally adorable. "Hey, it's nice to see you prof...I mean..Severus. Awww, Harry, look. It's their daughter." I heard Ginny say from the front door. "She's beautiful isn't she? To me she looks a lot like Maddie, but she keeps pointing out that she has my eyes." I heard Severus reply. Jade does look like me, but she has Severus's dark eyes that I just love. "Where's Maddie? Is she in the kitchen?" I heard Ginny ask. "Yes, you can go on through and see her if you want. She's been slaving away all day." Severus said. After a short while Ginny walked into the kitchen with a smile on her face. "Hey, how have you been?" She asked as she gave me a small hug. All of us have grown pretty close after the war, and I think it's a good thing. Especially for Severus and Harry. "I've been good, how about you two?" I said. "Harry and I have been doing great. We're getting married at the end of June." She said with a big happy smile on her face. "That's great!" I replied with a big smile. "I just hope it's as beautiful as your wedding." She said as she gave me a hand with dinner. "I'm sure it'll be fantastic." I said with a smile. We continued making dinner when someone else knocked on the door. "That should be Ron and Hermione. I'll get it." Harry said from the living room. I heard Ron, Harry, and Severus saying their hellos. "Maddie, your little girl is so cute!" Hermione gushed as she walked into the kitchen with Ron and the others. "She did have a little help with that." Severus chimed in, which made us laugh. "Thanks." I replied smiling. "I just put her to bed, she could barely hold her eyes open any longer." Severus said as he gave me a hug and kiss. "Aww. Who knew Severus Snape had a soft side?" Harry said, which made us smile in amusement. "Watch it Potter." Severus said jokingly. After a while dinner was finished, and we began eating. We talked about what all of us were recently up to. Ron and Harry got promoted as auroras. Ginny had gotten noticed by a famous all women Quidditch team, and Hermione talked about her S.P.E.W. organisation/movement. We were all just enjoying each other's company, which is something we hadn't done in a very long time. I knew that our friendship would last for a very long time. I hoped that one day our children would become friends as well.
