Dear Diary,
My mother and I are just ten minutes away from our new life. We are heading to a small town called Mystic Falls in Virginia, my mother grew up there but she left after I was born. I never knew my father, mom says he lived in Mystic Falls for a while but then moved to North Carolina, but they never worked so she left. My mother is really interested in the history of Mystic Falls she says that we are apart of the founding families too. History was my favourite subject so I was exited to learn more.I was gonna be a new student at Mystic Falls High School, I was nervous but excited.

"So are we going straight to the house?" I asked bring my knees to my chest. Out of the corner of eye I saw the sign for my new home.
It read:"Welcome To
Mystic Falls
Virginia""Yes and then I have to go to a founders party at the mayor's house" My mom replied.
"Do you know her?" I asked.
"Oh yeah," She nods. "We went to high school together."
You could tell my mother was that type of person that knew everyone in town. But it has been 17 years since she has stepped foot in this town. She never told me the real reason why she left, she always says it was my father and her not working out, but I never believed it.
I started to see buildings in front of me and before I knew it we were driving past the clock tower. I looked out the window seeing my new town. While we drove down the road I noticed a burned down house.
"Hey what happened there?" I said pointing in the direction of the burnt house.
My mother flickers between the house and road while we drove past.
"Oh it's very sad the house caught fire killing a boy named Jeremy Gilbert, he was your age. It was terrible." She says frowning a bit.
"Gilbert? Gilbert why does sound familiar. Was his family one of the found-"
"Founders? Yes, he was. The only person left in the Gilbert family now is his sister," My mother explained. I nodded.
We drove past a few more houses until my mom turned into our new driveway. She turned off the engine as we both got out of the car. My mother smiled looking up at the house, I could already tell that she was happy here and is happy. She adored this town.
We picked up a few boxes as my mom unlocked the door. I looked to see a good size sitting room and an open doorway to the kitchen. I went upstairs to see my room. I opened the door with my elbow since my hands were occupied with a huge box.
The door opened as I saw a beautiful pale yellow coloured room. The sunlight hit the walls perfectly and lit up the room. I set my heavy box on top of the bed and went back downstairs to get more of my stuff.
Once I got every box belonging to me into my room I took off my contacts and put on black square glasses, you could say I was pretty blind. I mostly wore my contacts when I would be going out or to school but I do always have the lazy days where it's just easier to wear them.
