More Than Friends

Chapter 5:

I haven't been out of Dianna's house for almost 3 weeks now. Luke claims he knows absolutely nothing about that video, and Jai is completely broken. He wont even talk to me; he hasn't answered my phone calls, text messages, or emails. If it wasn't for D I would look a complete mess but since she's in beauty school she kept my nails and hair updated. The rumors and all the crap that came with that stupid video finally died down, now it was time to go comfort my best friend, despite how awkward it'll be. I waited in the gym for Dianna, she met me there and drove me over to Jai's. Mr and Mrs Brooks have been texting me like crazy,so I had to let them know I was safe. I've been texting them non-stop,they're in South Carolina for a business trip.
       I knock on the door, any other time I'd walk right in,but under the circumstances I guess knocking is the best thing to do. Jai answers,and calls out for Luke "Hey bro your girlfriends here."
      My face reddens and I feel my heart get heavy, my eyes water, and my stomach turn.
       Jai looks at me, "He must be out, why'd you knock?"
     I look down,"....um... I....." A tear falls on to my shoe and I immediately look up, my eyes shooting on to Jai's sad face. "I miss my best friend, I never meant to hurt him and I want him back. Jai please I need you, you're the glue that holds me together and I know me kissing Luke must have totally killed your vibe; and, I am truly sorry for that but, you never told me that YOU LIKED ME!" I cover my mouth quickly, I wasn't supposed to mention that part.
     Jai's eyes widen, "K you are and always will be my best friend.... I know that you will always like Luke but, when I saw the two of you kissing.... I realized something... IM IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND." At that very moment everything between us changed Jai cupped my face with his hands and kissed me...... Why Jai? Why?
