More Than Friends

Chapter 1:

Kylie's POV:
I went home to find my mom asleep on the couch. I sighed and walked into the kitchen seeing what my mom did with her check. Why dont you care?(I thought to myself.)
I went upstairs and went straight for the shower. My main thought was getting out of that house so I took a 15 minute shower,making sure I was cleaned and making sure all the blue dye was out of my hair. After 15 minutes I grabbed my towel walking into my room. I decided to text Jai.
Kylie:Meet me outside in 30mins?
Jai:Anything for you.
I put my phone down and looked for an outfit. I finally decided on black shorts, a black shirt, and some accessories. My outfit process took about 20 mins and my hair took 5mins.
I ran downstairs and my mom was still on the couch. Her boyfriend -Dan-slurred his words as he talked."Kim where do you think you're going?"
I ignored him but he yanked my arm and threw me to the floor."OUCH!"
He yelled "WHEN I TALK YOU ANSWER!" He raised his hand but before he could do anything Jai was in the house with his baseball bat.
"Step away from her." Jai said
Dan listened and slowly walked away.
Jai came over and helped me up and took me to his house.
When we got there I was crying and shaking. Mrs.Brooks Jai's mom insisted that I rest for a while. So I did,I fell asleep in Jai's room.
(Sorry I know this chapter is kind of everywhere,but I wanted to get to her home life because she wont really be home in this book.)
