I slowly pull away from Jai, that kiss felt powerful. Jai's eyes are locked on mine as I see our whole childhood pass. The swing sets, bruises, bike rides, tree houses, snow fights, and forts.

"I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't have." he says as he steps closer.

I move back, "Jai you're my best friend and--"

He cuts me off "And who better to love than your best friend. Kylie I know everything about you. From the way you have different favorite flavors of ice cream depending on your mood, to the way you chew on your necklace when your nervous."

I smile as I take my necklace out of my mouth. "Jai I do love you, just not in that way." Turning, I leave him there with the most broken hearted face I have ever seen.
