More Than Friends

Chapter 16:

Stepping out of the car, people start to make their way out of the house; I see D, Luke, Jai, and Beau standing in front of the door all smiling. Making my way around the crown I smile thanking them for coming, I catch a glimpse of my four closests friends running inside. I decide to follow them.As the music starts up, I make my way inside.

 "Hey guys, whats goi--." My heart stops as I see who they're talking to. "Dad?" My eyes water.

"Yes, its me." He takes a step closer to me and engulfs me in his arms as I start to cry; crying I feel my father's body shift and soon im in someone else's arms... Keegan, my big brother. The music slowly drops out as I close my eyes.

Keegan and I would come home from school everyday and run to our father. Mom was always drinking and yelling,  but we knew she loved us. She loved us so much that drinking made her feel guilty ans she turned to something else. When I was 8 and Keegan was 12, mom met Dan. She took us and left our dad, we were allowed to visit him every weekend. On Keegan's 14th birthday Dan got mad and beat him; he kicked him out and my mother allowed it. My dad lost visitation of me when I was 11, and gained full custody of Keegan. On my 13th birthday he and Keegan tried to come for me; Dan convinced my mom to say they broke in and beat her and him. My father and my brother were no longer able to contact me, until I turned 21. My 21st birthday was the best thing ever, I got a call at 1:30 am, they promised to come visit me.

The music fades back in as my dad wipes my tears and Keegan slowly lets go.

"I promised I'd find you princess." My dad says as he places a small gentle kiss above my clean eyebrows.

"Are we going to party?!" Keegan yells heading for the door.

I look at my dad, he smiles nodding and heads outside with everyone else. I sit on the couch as Beau, Luke, amd Dianna walk by smiling. Jai sits next to me and intertwines his fingers with mine.
