Even though the band had stopped playing 10 minutes ago, Logan and Michele were still in the middle of the dance floor swaying back and forth as if they were listening to the same song.

“This has been perfect,” Michele said as she pulled Logan even tighter than what seemed humanly possible at that moment.

“The night’s not over yet, we’ve still got another party to go to,” he said gently pulling his arms away from Michele’s waist. “Ready?”

As they walked back to Logan’s car, the atmosphere had changed between the two of them. No longer was Michele scared or hiding her emotions and Logan sensed the calm feeling that now took control of her.

“I thought I knew you before tonight, but it’s like I am seeing a whole new person.”

“Is that bad?” Michele asked turning to face Logan.

“No, not at all, it’s like I am falling in love with you all over again, it’s an amazing feeling,” he said as he kissed Michele on the lips before helping her back into the car.

The drive to the lake house was a quiet one, but Michele couldn’t take her eyes off the man she loved. They were the last to arrive at the party and Michele hopped out as Logan carried two backpacks into the house.

Nicole saw the two of them walk in, she darted straight for Michele. Without saying a word, she grabbed one of the backpacks in one hand and Michele in the other pulling her upstairs.

“Guess I will be back,” Michele said, hoping that Logan would hear her over the loud music.

“So, tell me what exactly happened tonight,” Nicole said as she helped Michele change out of her dress.

Inside her backpack, Michele found a pair of jeans, a long-sleeve green shirt, her gray cheer sweatshirt, and a pair of old tennis shoes. Attempting to dress and not spoil her moment rehashing what she thought was none of Nicole’s business; Michele finished tying her shoes and started to walk out.

“Not so fast, you didn’t tell me anything?”

“We had a great time at the dance, that’s all, there’s nothing more to talk about, anyways Logan’s waiting for me.”

“What do you mean nothing to talk about, I saw that little display of you running into his arms and kissing him. You can’t tell me that was nothing, now spill. I tell you everything in my life, the least you can do is repay the favor.”

Turning around to face Nicole, the reality of that little display for all to see was something she was going to have to explain sooner or later. Why not now to her best friend of all people.

“You saw that, huh,” Michele said realizing the embarrassment that incident would cause her in the long run. “I just wanted to thank Logan for that beautiful song he wrote for me and I guess I got kind of out of control.”

“Ya think, that was so unlike you, I think I have a new level of respect for you,” Nicole said hoping for some more dirt. “I liked it, that’s what I would have done if I was in your shoes, but everyone expects that.

“It was like I couldn’t control what I was feeling or even thinking. One minute I saw Logan as my best friend, and the next minute as I listened to the words of his song I suddenly felt differently. I was falling in love with him and I didn’t fight it. This feeling is so amazing, overwhelming, but most of all scary. I feel like I am out of control and I can’t seem to make sense of it. All I know is that I want to be with him and right now not being able to see him or touch him is making me a little crazy.
