After the game it was the time to celebrate as the Cougars defeated their rivals, the Huskies by a three touchdown margin.

“This is how it’s going to be next year after you lead the team to victory every game,” Michael said in an impromptu toast to his son.

Logan even signed a few autographs for some young fans after they heard about his future with the team.

“You are going to have to get too used to it,” Michele said laughing. “I guess this means you are going to have a lot of groupies so I should get in line right now.”

“Stop that! No matter how famous I get, I will always remember the little people who got me where I am today,” he said now laughing so hard that Michele pushed him into the side of the motor home.

“Just kidding, I need you around, you’re my lucky charm,” he said grabbing a hold of Michele, pulling her tight to his body for an embrace.

As Logan and Michael were finishing up the recruiting portion of their road-trip, Bethany knew that this was the best opportunity to tell Michele her secret, not knowing what her reaction would be.

“Michele, I want to show you something and talk to you,” Bethany said. “I really wanted to show you the one place where your mom and I spent some of the best years of our lives.”

As they walked to the sorority, Michele anxiously awaited to hear about their friendship.

“Now, will you tell me what happened between you and my mom she would never tell us why you two were not friends anymore,” Michele pushed. “When we would ask her she just said that you moved away and never stayed in contact because you both were so busy. But, what really happened?”

“Well, there’s a reason for that and I want to tell you all about it. Your mom and I first met the day we joined the same sorority and we were best friends from that moment on. We did everything together. We were sisters and I knew that we would be for the rest of our lives. After college, we even lived a few miles away from each other.

“About a month before we moved to Spokane, your mom was over helping me pack up and we were drinking wine and after a couple of glasses I told your mom a secret that I had been keeping from her for more than 10 years. I never thought that she would have reacted the way she did, if I did I don’t think I would have ever told her.”

“It couldn’t be that mad, my mom was never the one to hold grudges or get really angry with someone,” Michele said wondering what this horrible secret was.

“Now, if I tell you, I hope that you don’t think the same way. Well, your dad and I went to high school together and were friends and I always had a crush on him, but never did anything about it. I was the one who actually introduced your mom and dad. After they started dating, I got really jealous of your mom and then I did the worst thing possible.

Not sure what Bethany was going to say next, Michele took a deep breath ready for whatever she said.

“One night, I basically threw myself at your dad and told him about my crush on him and I kissed him. We had been drinking which didn’t help the situation and we did something that we both truly regretted. The next morning we both agreed never to speak about it again. It was the biggest mistake of my life.”

“But why are you telling me this?” Michele asked, not sure what she should think. She knew why her mom was mad, she would have been mad if Nicole ever did something like that.
