The End Of The World

Vanessa POV

"Come one Vanessa you can do this" I say to myself. I look around the bus I start to look at the back which has missing seats. This must of been one of those buses that someone changed. I started to think of ways to do this I looked at the back door. There, I go to the door and kick it open I grab some heavy items out of the suitcase and throw them at the fence. They bounce off and hit the ground the Walkers at the door started to go to the sound. I close the door then go back to the front slowly. All of the Walkers but one left to go to the back. I set my back pack down then grabbed the machete. I opened the door and pushed the walker out of the way. I went sprinting to the knife and picked it up then went sprinting back. I then hit the walker with the machete and jumped on the bus. I locked the door then sat in the seat. "Come on Vanessa this should be easy I saw my bus driver do it all the time" I say to myself. I started the bus and to my surprise it had a full tank. Dumb luck I thought. I started to drive the bus. Come on why is this so hard to do. Calm down Vanessa calm down. I breathe in then breathe out. I hit the gas then went flying out of the gate the Walkers tried to follow me but we're to slow. I went far enough then decided to slow down. I would run the gas out of I did that for long. I kept following the road to the neighbourhood we were at. I hadn't reached it yet and saw a few walkers in the street. I smile then mowed them down with the truck. I felt like I was happy for a little bit. I know that they were people once but they took so much away from me. I reached the neighborhood then saw dad. He looked to see if it was me then smiled. I open the door and he walks up. "Good work this should help us" he said. I smiled as he patted me on the head. "Here help me clean a little bit if this up". I started to pick up the remaining bodies of the Walkers and the other crap on the floor. Dad then stepped outside and grabbed the horses and dogs. He managed to get the horses in from the back somehow after we checked under the seats to see if any walkers were there. Both horses were in there one behind the other then we grabbed the dogs and put them in the seats. They finally looked relaxed. Dad then ran inside the house to grab the rest of his stuff then came back out. "Ready to go?" dad asked. "I was born ready" I smiled and he laughed. He started the bus then we were on our way. I was looking out the window then eventually fell asleep. I woke up to dad shaking me. "Come on its a gas station let's see if there's anything inside" dad says. I got up slowly then looked at the dogs. They we're finally asleep they haven't been getting a lot of sleep for weeks. I look farther back to see the horses looking around calmly. Thank goodness this was a bus that was modified for more room I say to myself. I walk outside then lock the bus door behind me. I start to head towards the gas station. Dad goes to open the door. "Dad what are you doing" I say. "Uhh opening the door" he replies. "Are you crazy for all we know there could be like 20 walkers in there" I say a little agitated. "Fine" dad says a little angry. I grab my machete and tap the window before dad could. "Observe" I say in a sarcastic voice. Right after I said that four walkers came up the the window growling and moaning. I raised an eyebrow and looked at dad. He scoffed and went to open the door. "Ready" he asked "yep" I reply smiling. He then opens the door and let's two out at a time. He stabs the one in the head with his knife. I by accident cut the other walkers head clean off. It then launches off. The head went over on the ground and I went up to it and stabbed it. Dad then opened the door and let the other two out. This time I made sure to stab the head and not cut it off. We then walked inside and looked around. "Look on the ground Vanessa" dad says as we were walking in. I look down to see a lock broken on the ground. "They must have locked themselves in" I finally say. We then start to move around the inside of the gas station. I looked in the chips area and found a couple bags of takis, hot cheetos, and a can of spray cheese. I smile "hey dad score" I say. He then looks up "you remember when we would spray this stuff at each other and mess around" I say. Dad chuckled then kept looking for supplies. I then stuff the food into my backpack. I look up and stare at the fridge to see a big red. I quickly ran up to it and grabbed it. "Vanessa I found some M&M's" I quickly looked up. I got so excited those were my favorite candy. I ran over to dad right after he said that. "No you don't get these just yet because I know you will eat them all" dad said joking around. Dad then hugs me "I miss times like this when we could joke around" I say. "I know" dad replies. After we hugged I started to walk back to the front and went to the cash register. I looked under the counter to see some keys with a small bobble head attached to it. I looked at the key "what does this unlock?" I said in my head. I look around to see a chained door in the back. "Dad look behind you"I say, he turns around and looks at the door. "How did we miss this?" he asked. I walk up to the door then look at the chain. I can't open the chain with the key so I grab my machete and hit the chain. The chain breaks then hits the ground I grab the keys and and unlock the the door.
