I got on the bus and opened one of the cans of food. I poured all of it in a bowl then let all three dogs go and eat. They scoffed it down like they were never going to eat again. I looked outside to see dad slowly walking up to the bus. I guess what I said hit him hard he was acting like he was mom and I just told him that. He then got on the bus and sat in the seat. Next he just sat there looking out the front and tapping his finger on the wheel. "Uhh dad I wanted to tell you something" I say a little reluctantly. "What" dad says fiercely. "Can I tell you what happened in that middle school please" I say. "Go ahead" dad finally says. I start to tell him about how I covered myself with the organs of the Walkers and finally told him about the people who attacked me. I then finished by saying how I nearly died. I looked at him to see him tightening his grip around the steering wheel and him looking out the window. "I sorry your mother left you I know that it's a hard thing to go through trust me it happened to me" dad whispers. I remember him talking one night with mom and how he never trusted anyone anymore because his mother left him with his dad at a young age. I then began to think about what I had said. "But don't worry about that now" dad says interrupting my thoughts. "We need to keep moving" he finally says. I nod then he starts the bus and we start to move. I look in the mirror at the front and see a tear streaming down his face. Dad never liked to talk about his past it always made him sad and his goal his whole life was to be as a great a man as his father. His father, after his mother left, always helped him and his siblings, worked extra hard and long hours at work, and always seemed to carry a smile on his face. Dad always did the same and never saw the bad side of things. We kept going down the road and we both sat there in silence the whole ride and never once looking up.
