The End Of The World

Kathleens POV

Its been about a day since that girl came here. I had slept with one eye open and the sword in my hand. I don't trust her, something about her just doesn't seem right. My sister had to spend the night in my room because the girl was taking her room to sleep in. I certainly wasn't going to let her and my sister in the same room together. The girl might try to kill her for all I know. So my sister, Caitlyen slept in a sleeping bag on the floor.
I woke up and went to go have breakfast, a bowl of rice split five ways. When I gave the new girl her share she looked shocked. I just ignored her and ate mine. I've been eating rice for two weeks now. Its getting kind of old. We have more food, but my parents want to save as much as possible. I think it is stupid, but all well I get what I can.
After a while I went to go walk around for no reason. I've doing this a lot due to no electricity.
I walked in to my sisters room and found her changing a bandage on her arm.
"What happened", I asked
"When I was at Walmart I tripped and scraped my arm", she said seeming suspicious.
I went over to her trying to examine her arm, but she wouldn't let me. She struggled to not let me see her arm, but I pinned her down. She struggled to break free, but she couldn't wiggle free.
"What happened?", I asked expecting her to tell the truth.
"I told you." She said whining.
"You told me a lie!"
"No, I didn't!"
"Yes you did!"
"Why do you never believe me?"
" 'Cause you lie!"
I could tell she was starting to get angry at me. There was a moment of silence before I broke it.
"Just tell me what happened and I will let you go." I said calmly.
"Ugh, fine",she started," When I was at Wal-Mart yesterday I saw Tanner packing a whole bunch of supplies into her car. I saw a chance to take some stuff, so I started to pull her cart near me. She pulled a knife on me and yanked the cart away and it scraped my elbow. It started bleeding, then she left me in the parking lot, after a couple of minutes she came back and was going to give me a ride to somewhere, anywhere I could find a place to stay." Caitlyen continued.
I didn't hear anything past "She pulled a knife on me." That thought was running through my head. I could feel my body tensing up with anger. Once I realized she was done talking I let her go and I went to go grab a knife. "I need to find Tanner, where is she", I kept thinking as I stormed through the house.
Finally I found the back door open and I walked outside. I saw that our shed was opened. I walked over to find Tanner snooping in our said.
"O, now she done it. She pulled the last straw", I thought.
I crossed my arms, leaned over to one side, licking my lips as I usually do when I am about to blow up in someones face. She turned around and looked shocked.
"I need to talk to you", I said.
