Ding, I had heard my phone go off in my bedroom. I ignored it because I had a huge test to study for. Ding, my phone went again only a couple of minutes later. "What now", I thought as I was going for my phone. I picked my phone to read the message and all I saw was,"DEAD RISING, WORLD ENDING!!! CALL NOW!!", I thought she was loosing her mind, the dead rising could never happen, and the world ending, that was just something someone told her. Vanessa had always been making jokes. But I called her, I went to my contacts and dialed her number. It didn't even make it to the first ring before she picked up. I could tell there was panic in her voice.
"KATHLEEN, I..TALK...YOU!", I could hardly tell what she was saying.
"Alright, alright calm down, breathe.", I inhale calmly trying to get her to calm down,"Ok now what were you saying." I waited patiently before Vanessa finally answered.
"My dad saw a lady at work but she wasn't really normal her arms was gone, half her face, she had an axe through her back, and she was."
"What do you mean?", I said interrupting her ,"That's not the end though she went after another one of the coworkers and bit him they eventually pushed her off but the cops shot her more than once!"
I didn't know how to respond , was she going crazy, I couldn't decide weather to believe her or not. Without thinking I just responded,"I don't know what to tell you Vanessa, I'm sorry I just don't." There was an eerie silence between both of us for what seemed like forever, but then Vanessa told me to turn on the news. I went running down the stairs to the T.V and turned on the news. The headline shocked me,"EPIDEMIC CAUSING DEATHS AND HOSTILE BEHAVIOR".
