Your eyes shot open as you gasped for breath. You spluttered up blood as you quickly leaned over the side of the bed. Your breathing was ragged, the taste of black blood still in your mouth. You felt something shift on your bed and seconds later, Dire came into view. His yellow eyes no longer feral, but worried. Last night's memories came back to you.
Vincent had kissed you. He found out you was the Goddess of Death and Destruction and didn't care. If anything, he saw an advantage in that. You sighed, Dire didn't know what happened, and you had no intention of telling him. Not yet anyway, it would only worry him more. You brought your hand to your neck; feeling the messy bandages...
Something nuzzled you awake, it had fur but they was a dried substance on it. Your eyes peaked open, locking on with yellow orbs that was no longer feral. You raised your arm to slightly pet him, but it soon went limp. The effects of the fight and Ragnarok were finally catching up on you.
Dire whimpered at your state, a rag doll would look new compared to you. Your breathing was calm, but you was barely conscious. Your eyes had already become glazed over. Your companion seemed to sigh and shake his head at you, causing you to smile slightly. His eyes locked onto you once more, and the shadows he commanded engulfed you both.
Somehow, you had managed to stand when being transported through the shadows. When your feet hit solid ground again, you collapsed on your bed. Dire started tugging at your sleeves, you needed to get up and a least try to bandage yourself. ''I'm really out of shape, or have I always been this weak,'' you mumbled into your sheets.
You pushed yourself up, you had been through much worse and this wasn't going to get the better of you. You tumbled into the bathroom and stripped; stepping into the shower and washing tonight's hunt from your body. It stung, the hot water running into your wounds. Thankfully you didn't turn the light on. You could see in the dark, but now you didn't have to see your wounds; since everything was just shapes.
Once done, you dried yourself, accidentally rubbing some of the wounds causing you to wince. Dire stayed by your side making sure you was steady and didn't get hurt needlessly. After that, you managed to find some bandages. You wrapped them around your chest and neck mainly, only a few strips was put on your arms and legs. After that, you collapsed on the bed; not even bothering to put on clothes.
You sighed and got up. Your blood had soaked the bandages and the sheets, you just hoped that when you changed them, they wouldn't soak through. Staggering over to the bathroom, you took a shower, your body was sore and the wounds hurt ten fold. This time, you dried yourself with more care, avoiding the wounds.
Taking in your form in the mirror, you saw a girl with lifeless eyes. [h/c] hair wet and sticking to her skin. The girls body was worn, covered in ugly bruises, gashes, tears; it was a miracle she was still standing. That girl was you. Or more like was you; the one who could take anything and still survive. The one who didn't feel pain or emotion. You couldn't turn back into her...
The image flashed, a girl who looked exactly like you but with red demonic eyes and longer [h/c] hair. A superior smirk playing on her lips and pointed ears that was much bigger than any humans. Instead of wounds, they was tattoos much like your's when summoning Ragnarok. Yet these glowed and moved inside their barriers. To top it off, she had a long, thin, black tail that had a pointed tip.
