Chapter 1: Dear summer, I hate you now. (Unedited)

Tick Tick Tick*

The school clock is ticking annoyingly in the quiet Exam Hall. Except the snores.

Tick Tick Tick*

Ahhh! Stop! I've finished my Chemistry paper about 15 minutes ago which was amazingly easy for me, maybe. And I have to wait until the End Bell rings. I sighed. I tried to sleep but I just couldn't. I checked my paper about four-five-six times already. I glanced at my watch. 9:25, five more minutes and everything I mean everything will be over. Today is the last exam day that I'm going to have then Summer. Summer Baby! Here I come!

I tapped my pen against the table impatiently. It echoed around the quiet hall. I looked to the front, Ms. Ellis glared at me through her glasses giving me a warning look.

The bell rang, interupting me from my thoughts.

Yes! Finally! I grabbed my bag and shot out of my seat. I was first to the front, a little eager.

I placed my paper to Ms. Ellis' table. 'Bye, Ms. E!' or Missy I thought and yelled waving my hands with my back facing her. Ahh~ Summer. Summers' my name. I smiled while walking to my locker. I left all my not necessary books in, I slammed my locker shut and walked out to the gates. People passing by me smiled and greeting me farewell.

'Bye, Alex!'

'Have a great summer, Alex!'

'See yah!'

I greeted them back by smiling and waving at them. I miss my best friends, Jenn and Connor. They left 2 days ago with their family after they had their finals, they had the same subjects and I had different ones.

I hopped into my car, my baby Delilah, a yellow hummer that I got last year for my 17th birthday. I switched on my engine turned up my radio and Paramore blasted out my speakers. I rolled down my window and took off my hair tie, the wind blowing my hair. I took my Ray-Bans out from my compartment and put them on. I checked myself out in my rear mirror, satisfied and drove on.

I parked at my drive way and got off my car. I cleaned the soles of my shoes on the 'welcome' mat at my doorstep. I got in and went straight to my room and changed from my uniform to my shorts and a comfy lose graffic tee.

When I got to the kitchen to grab some snacks, the house phone rang. I jogged to the living room and answered it.

'Hello?' I said going back to the kitchen.

'Alex? This is Dr. Hunter. This is urgent'

'Um ok Doc, Sup?' I said while chewing on a granola bar.

'Alex, your dad is in the hospital, you have to get here as soon as possible.'

I hung up right away and got into my car. My heart almost jumping out of my chest from worry.  Old memories and grief flooded all over me as I drove to the hospital. This can't be happening.

I got off my car, and ran in the hospital.

'Jacob Summers?' I asked the nurse in charge of the front desk.

'403, ma'am.' The nurse said right away. I didn't bother waiting any longer of the elevator and ran up the stairs. 401...402...403! When I found the right room I barged in right away.

I can't breathe.

I saw my dad lying almost unconsciously on the bed.

'Dad.' I held his hand.

'Alex..' My dad said weakly.

'Dad..' I let go of his hand and hugged him tighter. 'Dad.. What happened?'

'No time to explain that, sweetie. I just want to tell you, that I love you so much-'

'Don't say that, daddy. Please.' I begged.

'Me and your mom loves you so very much. And ----'

'Dad.. No, please don't, Dad. You're ok.' I try to tell him.

'Listen, Alex.' He let go of my hands, cupped my cheek and wiped away my tears 'I want you to be safe and sound, and let Dr. Hunter take you.You are a strong girl. I love you, Alex'

'You're okay.' I told him again, or I try to tell to myself.

'I love you, dad' He took my hand and kissed my hand. He dropped my hand.

'Dad!' I cried uncontrollably.

The doctors and nurses came rushing in pushing me out of the room. I watched through the glass. Dr. Hunter took out the Defibrillator machine trying to revive him.

'Clear!'

'Dad, please don't give up. Don't leave me. I love you.' I whispered. As soon as those last words left my mouth the deafening sound of the heart monitor echoed around the room. He flat line on me. Tears continued to roll down my cheeks unstoppable.

I've dealt with death before but it doesn't mean I'm used to it.

No. This can't be. He's gone.

I love you, dad.

Author's Note:

Did you guys ever wonder why didn't Alex's dad told her the cause of his death?

I know, really really short chapter. You guys probably hate me for the title of this chapter. But then it's just for this chapter. In all honesty, I love Summer just as Olaf.
