Chapter 4: 500 days of summer

It has almost been two weeks of summer, and all I have been doing is eating junk while watching old Disney movies in bed ( Uncle David is going to kill me for being so unhealthy ) if I grow bored I would go out and walk on the park or swim the beach but I enjoy the latter more.

My dad and I got everything planned out for our perfect summer, but then it all had to thrown out the window. Whoosh. The wind blew it to neverland.

I still haven't quite talked to the boys yet neither, after that small incident with Ryan. Honestly, they are quite hard to be with, and I'm beginning to get annoyed with it. I mean we will be staying in the same shelter for like how long? Maybe 2 years or more. I been trying to make some effort to actually get to them more. Whenever I see them sitting in the living room, I would always start a conversation with them and they would do is just look at each other for help. Their faces looks like I've tied them to chairs and interrogating them.

Ryan POV

Sitting on my spin chair in front of my computer desk, reading a greek mythology book. Stopping to read when I felt my eye itch. I marked the page of where I stopped and removed my glasses. I went to the bathroom to use the mirror. I looked closer to see my irritated red eye, I washed my whole face leaving the front tips of my hair wet and. I sighed, I should stop reading for a while. I've been reading since this morning and didn't stop.

I decided take a break and go outside and breathe for some fresh air. I need some sunlight in my life for once. I jogged down the stairs looking at my steps, forgeting bout my glasses I'm just going to the backyard anyway. Honestly, my eyes are not that bad at all, well it used to but only after my little eye surgury. I dont actually have to wear them, but I just gotten used to it. My mom got mad at me for using them with high grades even though my eyes are already better. So instead she got me one with no grades on.

Focusing on my steps, I didn't notice anyone in front of me.

'Opf.'

I used my left hand hold onto the handrail to support me and with my other hand I grabbed her hand right away to keep her from falling. Thanks to two years of carrying heavy books everyday in school, I still grew a few muscles and managed to carry her up.

I was about to apologize my mom for my carelessness when I looked up it was Alex. My eyes went wide looking at her, shocked, I stood still standing on my position and my heart in my chest came out pounding. I'm pretty sure that it's the only thing that was functioning in my body where my brain stopped thinking what to do, and my lungs stopped breathing for a while. She looked at me with curiosity. Suddenly, I saw her blush and stood up properly right away.

'Thanks,' she said shyly, putting her hair behind her ear.

'N-no problem.' I said nervously.

'You didn't wear your glasses.' She stated, lifting her brow.

I nodded, my hair covering my eyes. I feel her hand brushing my hair off my face.

She smiled 'I like it better that way.' clutching on the pack of biscuits in her hand. 'I'll see you later' and continued on up the stairs.

When she's gone, I realised I've been holding my breath for a long time and my heart beating rapidly.

I changed my mind, I don't want to go to the garden anymore, I walked back up the stairs heading back to my room. Switching on the lights, I saw both the twins sitting on my bed.

'Dang, you guys scared me.' I said clutching on my chest. 'I'm going to have a heart attack soon, if you guys don't stop that.'

'Sorry man.' said Jeremy.
