Chapter 16: The Wintertastic Ball
Ryan POV
Prom starts in an hour and all we had to do is take our photos and get there. Right now all we waiting for is Alex.
'Have you sent in your unversity papers?' Mom asked. We are seated on the bar stools by the kitchen casually talking while waiting for Jeremy and Alex to finish up.
'I'm almost there, mom.'
'How do I look?' Jeremy asked Mark. Again. He keeps on messing around with his hair and fixing his tie.
'Like me.' Mark said tiredly while watching The Simpsons in netflix.
'But you look horrible, that means I do too!'
'Me? Ugly? No way. Not that I will let myself that.' Mark scoffed. 'And you think you are the most handsome guy in the world.' he followed sarcastically.
'Definitely, You're worse! You are just insulting yourself.' They continued to argue and yell around- until Jeremy walked away to the mirror. Five minutes later he spoke up again.
'Ok, how bout now?' Jeremy said blocking Mark's view of the TV.
'Oh for goodness sake, Jeremy.' Mark threw his arms up, exasperated. 'Are you messing with me? You have asked me that for the umpteenth time, Jer.'
'Unbelievable.' Mark muttered under his breath.
'Tool.' Jeremy retorted.
'Well after saying millionth time after 5 minutes, I got tired. Besides, you won't even listen to me. Why ask me then?'
'You are acting like a girl.' Mark grumbled.
'Says you.'
I shook my head at them, thinking that both of them are exaggerating. My mom are just burning holes at the back of their heads. Luckily Jack Jack is at his friend next door having a sleepover, he wouldn't be awaken by their voices right now and mom could work on her research.
Right at the same time, Alex was walking down the stairs, scratch that, jogging down the stairs on heels effortlessly. ON HEELS. How do girls do that? Is that even possible? Scared that she might fall down the stairs, I quickly stood up from my stool and rushed to her. I could see her looking at the boys with their bickering, amused.
'Careful.' I told her. Right when she got on the last step I held onto her hand. She murmured thanks and finally looked up.
'You look beautiful by the way.' I blushed.
'Thank you.' she smiled.
Hold on a second.
That wasn't supposed to come out.
'Uh, yea.' I tried to cover that slip up out.
'You look handsome too.' she replied. I almost couldn't tell if she's actually blushing behind her fake blush, but I could see her ears go red and she averted her gaze away quickly.
'Ok, kids! It's picture time!' My mom squealed excitedly, grabbing her camera off the table and walking towards us. She pushed us to the living room, where she thinks that it has the nicest background.
'Boys, please stop arguing.' Mom said, her tone saying "Enough is enough, if not I'll kick the both of you out" and if you heard that tone, you better stop what you're doing to upset her. That woman is serious.
The boys did shut up quickly. Jeremy messed his hair up -the good way-for the last time, Mark saw it and he rolled his eyes.
'Single pictures first! Ryan, stand over there.'
