Chapter 13: In progress

Alex POV

We made our Saturday morning work out a routine. We're getting used to it and we're also seeing some improvements. I'm actually quite excited on how they will turn out to be.

'Alex?' Little Jack said stood right next to me and tugged on the hems of my hoodie.

'Oh hey, Little Jack! What's up?' I turned to him. Currently I am on google researching for my english project on a sunday afternoon.

'I'm bored.' He pouted and walked over to my bed and sat down, hunched. I noticed that I've been spending more time with his older brothers than him, I really feel bad.

I quickly shut my laptop and walked over to him, bending my knees to level with him. When he doesn't look up, I placed my hands on his chin and lifted his head up to look at me.

'What do you want to do?' I asked.

'I don't know.' he sighed.

'I got something, let's go.' I ruffled his hair and I offered my hand. He held on it and I guided him out of my room.

'Where are we going?' he asked, hopping down the stairs.

'We'll grab ice cream and we'll go to the park. Sounds good?' I told him. It sounded quite plain to begin with but he nodded with excitement.

'Hey Ry!' Jack said cheerfully when we saw him went out the kitchen and go up the stairs. He just came back from a afternoon jog. Out of all the boys, he seemed to be more into my plan. During school, He and Archer clicked right away. Archer invited Ryan to hang out in his one time and Ryan came home, shocking us with the news he decided to join Martial Arts. It wasn't easy to convince Aunt Becca with her motherly and doctor senses about it. She had to call Uncle David for approval, even though he approved right away she was still hesitant. In the end, she gave in.

'Hey Ry!' I also greeted when we reached the last step.

'Hey, where are you guys going?' he asked us, but his eyes were connected to mine. He looked away first and turned to Jack and lifted him up on the air. I could see his muscle flex underneath his soaked white shirt. His muscle grew larger through weeks of working out plus his Martial Arts training every Thursday after school.

Jack giggled.

'We are going to get ice cream and go to the park. Want to come with us?' he asked after Ryan have placed him back down on the floor.

Ryan looked at his soaked shirt and looked at Jack.

'Sure! But I gotta change first, I'll catch up with you guys after.' he ruffled Jack's mop of hair and connected with my eyes again before jogging up the stairs.

'Yay!' Jack cheered.

'Let's go.' I said after we slipped into our shoes.

'Can I have two scoops of double chocolate ice cream in the cup, please?' Jack tiptoed, to see the staff at the counter of the ice cream shack.

She nodded and dialled Jack's order.

'Anything else, ma'am?' she asked.

'I would like a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop cookie dough also cup.' I ordered.

'Can I have another order of that please?' a voice intercepted. I turned to see Ryan standing behind us wearing a checkered button down flannel, the sleeves folded up to his elbow and navy blue jeans. His hair looks wet like he had just gotten out of the shower, if anyone knew he just went to jog to realize it's sweat. Despite that, he still pulled it off, people would barely notice it I thought.
