Chapter 17: The Perfect Wintertastic Ball

ALEX'S POV

We all stared at the beautiful girl who was standing near the fountain. She's wearing a purple lilac floor gown. It has a sweetheart neckline with thick studded straps. It perfectly hugged her top and flowed from waist down. Her hair is ash grey and is fixed as a braided crown on her head.

I was first to speak up. 'Jeremy, why didn't you tell us about your girlfriend?' I teased.

Ok, so maybe she is still not his girlfriend. Maybe she is, but if not maybe he just needed a little push. He obviously likes her and she looks nice to me.

Jeremy swallowed. Even with the dim lights, we could easily tell he blushed deep red because of his pale skin. 'S-she isn't my g-girl-girlfriend, she's just my date.' he stuttered, looking away from us.

Ok, obvious lie there. I don't study psychology but usually I could tell if someone is lying. Like with Ryan before when he tried to keep me away from knowing that he had met up with Marco and had hurt him. He isn't a great liar, but he had still managed to keep from his parents that he gets bullied. Aunt Becca and Uncle David is too nice and is usually concerned with their kids, I couldn't imagine what they would do if they found out.

'What are you waiting for? Go get her here and introduce us.' Ryan mused. Jeremy hesitated but went anyway. Probably doesn't want himself to get embarrassed by his friends or siblings.

'I knew he has a crush on her! I didn't expect him to actually ask her out.' Mark said in the silence of the table, after Jeremy has left to pick up his date.

Her arm around Jeremy's, we watched as they both gracefully walked over to our table.

'Guys, this is Margot Vanderkampt.' Jeremy announced. Well that stuttering, shy Jeremy has left and has been replaced with a confident and out going Jeremy. The type that he usually only shows me and his family.

'Hello.' she shyly waved but she has a friendly tone.

'Margot, this is Alex.' he started introducing with me first. She waved at me, and I waved back.

'Hi.' I greeted.

'Ryan, my eldest brother.'

'Archer.'

'Hey' he waved.

'Bea.'

'Nice to meet you.' she gushed excitedly and we all chuckled at her mood.

'Dylan.'

'Hello.'

'And you obviously know him, Mark.'

Mark rolled his eyes at this but has the side of his lips quirked up, smiling.

What I've noticed while he introduced us to her, is that Jeremy was calm when he did and so was Mark. Normally they would be shy around new people and even to girls.

Jeremy pulled out a seat for Margot but he remained standing behind her.

There was an awkward silence.

Well.. I thought.

We all stared at each other, waiting for someone to say something.

Suddenly Timber by Pitbull came on, everyone on the dance floor started whooping and loudly singing.

Yup, it's everyone's dance jam.

Dylan was first to break the silence.

'So.' he stretched the word out with a smirk on his face, apparantly he knows what's everyone thinking. 'Who wants to dance?'
