I stared into the mirror admiring my reflection, for once in my life I actually felt beautiful. I wore a small leopard print skater dress, with sparkly black heels. My hair fell in effortless curls over my shoulders and I pushed it back off my face to reveal my makeup which had been used to create a smokey effect. I watched the reflection of the mirror change as a figure walked into the room. Immediately I recognized the perfectly messed up hair, slim frame and when he looked up at me, his beautiful eyes. He approached me from behind and wrapped his arms around my waist, so we were both watching the reflections intently.
"You look out of this world." He smiled, before kissing my cheek.
I turned around so my lips were skimming his. "You don't look to bad yourself Shelley." I whispered. He leaned in to kiss me, but I moved my head away, teasing him, I smiled at his reaction.
He giggled, "oh your playing hard to get tonight then?"
I nodded before walking out the door, however I was pulled back into the room.
"Promise me you will be alright with Taylor tonight, he can get a bit drunk." He said, concern in his eyes.
"As long as you're here I'm fine! Now go enjoy yourself, you deserve it!" I playfully shoved his shoulder and he took my hand leading me downstairs.
The music grew louder and the amount of alcohol people drank increased. I don't drink, therefore I settled for a lemonade. I stood akwardly alone watching as George became tipsy with some old friends. I just prayed he didn't get too drunk. As I stood listening to the music I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to be greeted by a smiling face.
"You must be Jess!" The girl said, she was tall and beautiful. "I'm Sams best friend, Holly."
I smiled, relieved that I was finally in the company of someone.
"Hi Holly, its really nice to meet you! How did you know about me?" I asked confused.
"She laughed, "Sam tells me you're all George ever talks about," she said. "I'm glad he has found you, he was in a very bad place before and we were really worried about him." Her voice became quiet as she talked about Georges past, it was a sensitive subject and not something that people talked about often.
Me and Holly talked for an hour before we decided to go for a dance. We made our way through the crowds of people dancing before we arrived in the centre of the dance floor. The pair of us listened to the music, singing, smiling and dodging the drunken party people. I seen George a few times and he would blow me a kiss smiling, I could tell he was drunk. The dance floor became more crowded with people when I felt a pair of strong hands around my waist. I turned around expecting to see George. I was met by a pair of dark threatining eyes. It was Taylor. I attempted to walk away but he pulled me back into his chest, attempting to turn my head around.
"Taylor stop!" I shouted, but the music was too loud and his strength beat mine. I turned round to look at him and as I did a pair of rough lips met mine. I tried to pull back but he held me in tight, his hands still around my waist.
I raised my hand to slap him, when I felt a powerful blow knock me out of his grip. I looked up to see George, rage burning in his eyes. He was no longer the harmless drunken boy he was before, he was now furious and screaming threatening words at Taylor who was on the floor with a bloody nose. Taylor attempted to get up but, George kicked him in stomach before turning to walk out.
"George!" I shouted, expecting him to turn around and check if I was okay, but how he treated me was the complete opposite.
"Don't you even look at me!" He screamed, our shouts now attracting crowds that Sam and Holly tried to clear away, while holding back Taylor. I stood shocked at Georges aggresion towards me.
"How could you do this to me?!" He screamed inches away from my face, causing me to feel frightened of George for the first time ever.
"George what do yo-" I shouted back but he left the room before I could finish. That's when I realised. George thought I had been unfaithful and cheated on him. If I could have died on the spot right there and then I would have. All I wanted was to disappear.
But do you honestly expect me to believe we could ever be the same.
