I achieved a full nights sleep in the comfort of Georges arms, it wasn't the happiest time for me. I didn't know how I had gotten this far without her. A mother is a girls best friend. My mum was more than that though. She was my guardian angel. Although this day was a day I dreaded every year, I knew George would find a way to make me smile.

I awoke to a bright stream of light leaking theough a gap in the curtains. As my eyes adjusted I made out the shape of someones slim frame, their messy hair sticking up at odd places and a smile plastered across their face. He stood over me, without a shirt revealing his toned stomach, I lay staring at him admiring his beauty.

"Earth to girlfriend!" He giggled, snapping me out of my daydream. "Today is a special day and of course we need to spend it doing something that makes you happy, it what she would have wanted." He said.

A small tear rolled down my cheek at the mention of my mother. I watched Georges face turn from a glowing smile to a concerned and guilty frown. He rushed over and knelt down at the side of the bed, placing both hands at the side of my face.

""Jess, I'm so sorry, I'm horrible. You don't have to spend time with me today I will ask Holly." He teared up as he realised he had made me cry. But it wasn't his fault. I knew I had to be strong for my Mum. I knew if I wanted to be strong the only thing I needed was George. I stopped the tears and toughened up.

"Don't you ever say you're horrible ever again, I need you today George. I want you today." I smiled at him, he returned the favour, before planting a kiss on my cheek.

"Let's get ready then, were going somewhere new." He said.

We drove through country lanes and quiet roads until we reached bumpy hills. I expected us to get out and walk, but George looked at me before driving over a road that was ancient and hadn't been used for a good few years. We bumped around in the car, knocking the sunglasses off of my head.

"George are you crazy?!" I shouted, still being violently tossed around.

He smirked anstopped the car, giving us a well earned break from the arduous shaking of the car.

"You know I know the most beautiful places in the area, the most secret little paradises unknown to everyone. But every rose has its thorn, this journey will lead to something beautiful, promise." He flashed a killer smile, making me melt.

We carried on the treacherous path until George finally stopped the car. He told me to close my eyes, I obeyed and heard him getting out the car before opening my door. I stepped out the car and George slipped his hands over my eyes. He guided me over to softer ground then turned me around.

"Its a good job I trust you Shelley!" I laughed.

I felt Georges hand seperate from my face and I opened up my eyes, taken aback by the sight. I stood at the side of a small lake, that reflected the sunsets orange glow. Trees with light pink petals complained about standing constantly upright and drooped over the lake, creating a dome around the waters. It was the quietest, most untouched place I had ever been. No traffic and no people. Except for the one I loved. He was the only excpetion.

I turned to face him and embraced him in a hug. "George its beautiful." I whispered.

We sat down on a small patch of grass adjacent to the lake. We talked for hours watching the sun go down and leave us with twinkling stars, that caused the lake to glitter. I felt Georges arms wrap around me and pull me further into the blanket I was sitting on, until I was lying down staring up at the gleaming sky. I pointed out the biggest star, the one that shone the brightest. I swallowed back tears and decided to talk about her.

"That's my Mum, right there, being beautiful in the sky." I said.

George entwined our fingers and looked at the stars. "I see her Jess." Kis voice was calm and relaxed.

"How do you find such amazing places?" I asked.

He paused then began to speak, "when I got involved in bad things I felt like I needed to be myself. You know, don't try to impress anybody just me, music and my guitar." He spoke about his past with confidence in his voice, as if he was finally over his troubles. His eyes still read pain, but I figured his mental scars would never disappear. "Every time I have been here I have been alone with my guitar, but I'm glad to share it with you Jess." Before I could answer I felt his hot lips reach mine and we began kissing passionately rolling around the blanket.

"Come and dance with me Jess." George said, a cheeky smirk on his face.

"George I can't dance." I protested but he didn't listen. Instead he gripped my hand and pulled me up into a standing position. He snaked his arms around my waist and looked intently into me eyes. We swayed slowly beside the river, staring at eachother.

"Promise to take my hand take me heart, promsie to never stop dancing once we start ohh this is our song." We danced under the moonlight all night long, laughing and making fun of eachother. I felt free and away from all harm. I felt loved.
