A month went by after mine and Georges first date and in that month we had become inseparable. I had now started living in Georges cousins house who I now knew as Sam, he had become a really close friend to me. The orphanage probably thought I had commited suicide or ran away and become an alcoholic ,but they were wrong, I was the happiest I had ever been. My new life with George was perfect and I couldn't ask for anything better, I was madly in love with him and he claimed he was with me. We both kept trying our best at school, determined to make things work. But one failed attempt led to another , resulting in us getting expelled and told to never come back. Sam suggested that instead of us getting kicked out of another school, me and George should get a job and that's exactly what we did. School was ending soon anyway and the pair of us weren't getting anywhere, so we decided to start making a living in a small coffee shop. We worked five hours a day, but with George by my side it never felt like work, more like another reason to spend time with him. And that's what I loved doing.
The stream of light that leaked through the curtains awoke me. I got up and began getting into my work clothes. When I finally finished I came back into the room and jumped on top of George waking him up so quickly that he jolted upright sending us flying off the bed completely. We landed in a thud and I began trying to get up, but was forced down by a messy haired male in just a pair of boxers.
"Good morning sleepy head." I said trying to push him off me, but he pressed me back down so I was pinned to the ground, his lips skimmed mine.
"Ready for another day at work?" He asked me, his voice tired and deep. I nodded and finally managed to get Georges muscular frame off me. He walked off grabbing his work clothes on his way, turning around once to blow me a kiss. No matter what we were doing, as long as I was with that strange boy that walked into my life one day I didn't care.
The work day went by slowly and consisted of serving people, chatting away with George and making jokes out of anything that we found funny. I watched George as we laughed at random things, the way his cheekbones rose as he smiled and how his eyes twinkled playfully. This boy would be the death of me. I would give up anything just to see him smile. The shop, which was usually flooded with customers, was eerily quit that day. I tried to ignore it but something didn't feel right, it was as if everyone had gone away. That's when I saw the man enter the shop. He was tall, wearing a mask and was carrying a gun. He was certainly in no mood for coffee.
My heart beat strongly as I realised the situation I was in, this man was serious and showed no sympathy for me and George. George stood protectively in front of me and squeezed my hand trying to send the signals that it would be okay, but by the way he stood frozen made it look like he wasn't too sure himself.
"Listen up," the masked mans voice boomed around the shop, causing me too flinch. "I have police after me and I'm in no mood for messing around!" He began shouting again, "hand yourselves over or I will shoot you dead right here!" He shot his gun up in the air for emphasis, causing huge chunks of glass to fly around the room, many cut into my skin leaving my face and bare arms covered in cuts. George had a nasty looking cut on his head that was pouring with blood. He was pale and didn't look healthy enough to face the raging man. I tried to persuade myself that it was okay, but the sharp pains from my weeping cuts told me the oppposite. We were going to die here.
George stumbled towards the man, uneasy on his feet. I tried to shout his name but no words came out, I was frozen in panic.
"Leave us alone!" George roared aggresively, he threw a punch at the man, knocking the masked criminals face sidewards. But the man came back with double the force, knocking George to the floor then raising his gun at him. Before he could pull the trigger i ran up to the man screaming Georges name, I pushed the man hard in the stomach. But he showed no signs of damage and lifted his gun towards me, pulling the trigger. The next thing I knew was darkness.
Georges p.o.v.
I watched Jess fall to the floor helpless and unconcious, seeing her so injures fueled my ange. I stormed towards the man and knocked him square in the stomach, sending him flying and the gun out of his hand. But before I could do anymore damage I heard police sirens and was surrounded by flashing lights. I watched the police as they claimed the man, remembering a time when I was the one being loaded into a police car. I wan over to the ambulance that was also on the scene, I waved my arms frantically, uneasy from my head injury that was beginning to burn and make me feel sick.
"Its my girlfriend sir," tears began to fall as I remembered Jess' small frame falling to the ground. "She's been shot." I said through tears.
I stood leaning on a wall, trying to stand still but my body swayed in the breeze. I seen the door of the coffee shop open and the sight I was dreading to see. A body being dragged out of the mess. But not just a body. The love of my lifes body. I tried to make my way over to Jess to comfort her. But as I tried to run my body shook then finally shut down. My world turned black.
Don't you dare look out your window, darling everythings on fire.
Authors note: sorry if it has a few mistakes thought I would update before bed and I have really bad back pain so it was quite quick, but hope you like it :).
