I awoke to a bright light shining down and a strange pounding in my head. I moved my nech side to side to try and get rid of the pain that was making me feel weak and drowsy.

"The boy is awake," I heard an unfamiliar voice from the other side of the room.

A few minutes passed, before a man walked in dressed in doctors clothing. That's when it all came flooding back to me, I was in hospital. The gun man. The police. The shooting. Jess. Where was she?!

"Where is she?" I asked quietly, panic taking over my other emotions.

"Where is who?" The doctor asked testing my patience, walking over to me so he was right beside my bed.

"Where is Jess?" I sat up straight and fast, causing my head to bang and my vision to go blurry, I ignored the pain. I had experienced worse.

"Son, you are not strong enough to go and see your girlfriend, now lie back down." He placed his hand on my chest and attempted to push me down. He failed dramatically. I may have been weak ,but I had learned to fight for what I believed in no matter what conditon I was in. I clutched the side of the bed and got up, trying to forget the searing pain tthat shot through my head.

"I won't follow any of your orders if you don't let me see her!" I walked right up to him, pointing a threatening finger in his face, as I shouted at the top of my voice. The shouts caught the attention of other doctors and nurses, before I knew it most of the hospital staff were in my room, trying their hardest to reposition me in my hospital bed. I shoved them all off and tried to get out the door. It was locked.

"I'm not messing around here!" I shouted aggresively. "I need to see her!" I wasn't giving in.

"Somebody get me a wheel chair." The doctor said quitely. "Now!" He ordered.

I was wheeled down the corridor my breathing heavy, not just because I was angry, I was also in a huge amount of pain. We passed doors, staff and other patients. We went down endlessnumbers of corridors, before we finally reached the room that held Jess. The one person who held my heart. I took a deep breath hoping for the best but epecting the worst. The door opened and my eyes found her. Not the Jess I knew. A small, weak and unconcious girl.

I was wheeled over to the lifeless body that lay on the bed.

"She's in a coma." The doctor explained. " Her body went into shock after the accident, Its unlikely that she will wake up were sorry to tell you." I nodded and he slowly walked ot the room. When I knew we were alone, I allowed a tear to fall down my cheek. The girl I knew was attatched to endles tangles of wire, her eyes stayed tight shut and she had cuts all over her beautiful face. It made me so angry how somebody would do this. I though back to my past and the awful things I had done, I regretted it all. But I would have never let myself stoop so low to injure somebody so innocent. Why me? Everything was going perfect and now I was sitting in hospital, unsure if Jess would make it.

I picked up her hand in my shaking ones and began talking, hoping she would hear.

"Jess its me George. I know your not very strong right now, but I just want you to know that I'm here with you, every step of the way." By now the tears were streaming down my face. "We can do this Jess I believe in you! As long as were together, we can do anything! I promise Jess Parker, that when you wake up we will make it right again. You're not alone and I will try to fix you." I took a deep breath, looking at how innocent and vunerable she looked lying there helplessly. I wanted to hug her and never let her go. But her health came first and she was too weak for that.

I spoke again, "I love you Jess, I believe in you."
