What If... : Chapter 8

Kate's POV

          " That's Wonderful Mistress Kate!" I've never heard Alfred talk with such joy."Alfred... Please can you keep it a secret!" I begged. " Why would you want to keep such news a secret" Alfred asked raising an eyebrow. " I'll tell them when I'm ready" I said trying to conceal all the joy i was feeling right now. " As you wish" Alfred said going back to what ever he was doing.

          The only person that I wanted to tell was Damian... But I wanted to tell him by the secret tree! So  I calmly walked up the stairs like nothing happened. I walked over to Damian's Bedroom door and gave a few soft knocks. A few seconds pass before I hear a come in.

          I swiftly opened the door, and I leaned up against the door frame. I looked up to see this Mari girl sitting next to him on his bed. "What do you need Kate"  He said calmly scooting away from Mari. "Um... I was Just hoping that we could talk...In private.... you know at that secret tree..." I glanced at the clock that showed 8:23 am. " Could we maybe meet there at 10?" I asked nervously.

         He furrowed his brows and though for a awkward silent minute. "Uh sure.." He managed to choke out. " Oh Great..." I said jumping up with joy. Damian Just gave me a weird look and i oddly walk out showing no shame.

          I was so exited you have no idea!!! When i walked in I basically wanted to tackle him and apologize for everything that I had done and said to him after my resurrection. But I couldn't do that with Mari sitting there and staring at me the whole time. I don't know why... But I have a weird feeling about her. But it's probably nothing.

          I had to plan out how I was going to tell the other's I remember!! I missed Dick's Hugs, I missed Jason calling me kitten. Then me hurting him in some way, I know I missed Tim's annoying come backs. and well I just missed Damian's everything! and I just wanted to tell him how I really feel. But no doubt he's probably dating that Mari girl... :p

 But I'm crossing my finger's he's not! :)

Damian's POV

          "Why would Kate want to meet me at the secret tree?" I thought to myself. "Why would the Kate want to talk with you?" Mari asked scooting closer to me. "Oh it's nothing..I need to be alone." I said abruptly walking out of my room.

          Do you think she remembers? But I'm not for sure that she could remember, but its a big possibility! I wanted to bring the news to my Father.I searched everywhere , until I came across his office. I knocked on the door rather loudly. I heard the sound of rustling paper, then a suttle "what?" 

          I cracked open the door making sure i didn't see anything i wasn't supposed to. Alfer the cost was clear I opened the door fully. " Father, I have something to tell you about Kate" I said blankly staring at his desk. " Ok But before you do, I'm actually glad she doesn't remember so you two don't go on and start dating. It would mess your whole routine up! But anyways what do you have to say?" He lectured.

          My mind went blank, along with my facial expression. " Oh uh.... Kate.. She stole unicorn barf from Dick...So he got furious and um... He threw her into a wall... and is now stuck..." I blurted out.  " Does she need assistance?" He said slowly walking for the door. "NO!!" I yell almost tackling him. He slowly backed away.

          "So I'm going to get the butter..." I slowly say walking out of the room. I let out a deep sigh. 

...That was close... I hear someone chuckle.

          I look up to see Jason smirking at me. " What do you want Todd?" I said in a snobby tone. "Your hiding something aren't you" Jason said suspiciously. " Well I know it's nothing of your concern" I scoff and storm pass him. 

          I go into my room to get dressed in my regular clothes, and fix my hair before I went out in public. I looked at the clock. "9:37" It said. I had plenty of time to get there. I grabbed my pair of sunglasses. I made a toaster waffle since I didn't eat breakfast and I was on my way to the secret tree.

        I was walking out the door, but was stopped. " So Damian where are you going?" Mari asked from behind me. "To finish personal business..nothing that you need to get involved in." I stagger back. "Alright then..." I heard her saddened tone behind me.Then I just left.   I walked through various crowds of people trying to stay as hidden as possible.

          With every step i was taking I would get more and more nervous about talking to Kate. What If it wasn't about her remembering everything. What if she was totally pissed at me for some reason. What if she wants me to join death stroke?

          The time came when I finally made it up to the tree. I saw Kate standing up against the trunk. I took a deep breath... and kept  making my way closer.
