My room was a mess. Clothes were scattered all around the floor, and make up was lying all around on my desk. This seems more of my friends date than it was mine. I was sat at my desk as Jane pulled and twisted my hair into different looks. "Jane, ouch." I said pulling my head forward away from her hands.

"If you want me to do this Natalie, you have to let me figure out what the hell I'm doing!" She told me firmly and grabbed my shoulders yanking me back. I grunted as my back slammed against the back of chair. I looked over to my closet where May and Sophie were figuring out what I was going to wear.

"We could always go for that casual day time look!" May said pulling out a pair of jeans and a cute top.

"What if he takes her to a fancy place, May? Oh yeah do you want the snails? No? You'll just take McDonald's okay." Sophie rolled her eyes jumping into the closet and pulling out a simple baby pink sundress with a pair of matching sandals. "See, this says casual but at the same time 'I can be a classy as hell lady'." She stated laying it out.

"Lady outside, crazy bitch in the bedroom." Jane snickered and winked at me. My eyes widened and I smacked her arm.

"Jane Evelyn!" I sneered and gave her a glare. She laughed loudly giving my shoulders a gentle squeeze.

"Too bad you can't bring ol' Mikey to the prom huh Nat?" May asked lying on her stomach on my bed. I shrugged and looked at myself in the mirror.

"We don't even know if this is a date you guys. It could be just an apology dinner for being a jackass." I retorted and played with my fingers. Jane suddenly gasped with an idea and darted to my bathroom. She grinned wildly as she came out with the curling iron.

"Let's curl that beautiful black hair girl!" She squealed and ran over. I swallowed shallowly and looked at her.

"You know how to use that right?" I questioned. With an innocent grin she went off to make me different person.

Before we knew it Daddy was yelling down for me to come and see Mike. My friends gave me quick hugs before running to the window seat that had a great view of the driveway. I walked down the hall adjusting my dress and to the stairs nervously.

Mike's P.O.V:

I would be lying if I didn't say that I wasn't nervous. It had been forever since I took a girl out on a date. I had to remember that she wasn't like Phyllis so she wouldn't like the same things that she did. I had had the guys help me pick out flowers to bring for her, and what to get dressed in. Davy was obviously jealous that I got to take a girl like this out, but he had his chance and failed.

I was pacing around the house trying to figure out when it would be the perfect time to go get her. I was figuring out how far her house was from mine. Glancing at my watch I realized it was 4:15 and that would give me just enough time. I grabbed the daisies and adjusted my red tie. I had a simple white button up on, a red and white spotted tie, a navy blue suit jacket, with matching pants and black shoes. On the top of my head was her hat. I wasn't taking this off for nothing... Well, only if she wanted it back. I grabbed my keys from the rack and quickly made my way to my car. I placed the flowers next to me in the connecting passenger seat before starting up the car. She groaned and flipped, but started up perfectly. Throughout the whole drive I was drumming my fingers nervously. I didn't want to mess this up with her. I liked her... Hell! I loved her. If I lost her I don't know what I would do. My thoughts were stopped as I pulled up to her house. It was a ranch style house, green shutters outlining the windows, the roof matching them. The color of the house was white and the front doors the same green color. There was porch with a swing, a lonely book sat there.
