Photoperiodism- Responses to changing day lengths carried out by plants.
Pathogens- micro organisms that cause disease
Pasteurisation- Food is briefly heated to kill bacteria in them.Exponential growth- When a population grows very quickly.
Antigens- All viruses and cells have these antigens on their surface.
Lymphocytes- White blood cells that respond to a vaccine.
Immunisation- When someone becomes immune/ resistant to a vaccine.
Primary response- The way lymphocytes react the first time the body is infected with antigens.
Secondary response- The second time the body is infected by an antigen, the lymphocytes are quick to react.
Monoclonal antibodies- Many identical antibodies.
B lymphocytes- A type of lymphocyte that makes antibodies but can't replicate.
