One day (mature at parts)

So this is set shortly after Kathy/Arthur's wedding, like the same day...
As usual I haven't proof read this so if there's spelling mistakes, blame Wattpad ;)

Riley's POV
I cuddle into James' chest as we watch Piper, Macy and Gia dance around with Debra and Kathy so some weird pop song from the 80s Arthur and Kathy had put on their wedding playlist. I feel James stroke my back and shoulders with his hand, which is draped across my shoulders.

The band had finished their few songs and left, James and I had finished our duet, and we'd all devoured the wedding buffet. Now we were just relaxing and cuddling as we enjoyed the reception.

The song abruptly finished, then was followed by a slow song... 'Thinking Out Loud'. Arthur and Kathy were slow dancing, as were Debra and James father, Macy and Gia, Piper and Uncle Enzo.
Other couples from both sides of the family filled the floor and a soft smile settled on my features.

"Dance with me baby?" James whispers into my ear, which sends shivers down my spine.
I grin at James and take his hand, as he leads me to the floor.

I place my hands around his neck, as James rests his arms around my waist, placing his hands on my lower back. Our foreheads rest against one another's, with our noses just touching. I close my eyes and gently sway with James to the music, feeling his gentle gaze resting on me. I can tell that James is smiling, as am I, as we slow dance.

"Ma, look at James and Riley" I hear Piper whisper to Debra
"Looks like our little boy's found the one" James father whispers to Debra, causing me to blush, especially since I know James can hear them too.
However their words remind me of the reception dinner...

"James, you better watch your manners" I hear Debra whisper to James just as he sits beside me, placing down his full plate and chuckling.
I know what Debra means, when he's with his boys James can be a bit of a pig, stuffing his face, not using cutlery, speaking with his mouth full, spilling food, being overly loud, burping loudly...
Okay my boyfriend is a pig with his bros, family and sometimes around me

"Yes ma" he chuckles, before continuing "I'm always on my best behaviour around Riles"
I raise an eyebrow at him sarcastically, before placing my napkin across my lap and picking up my cutlery and starting on the food in front of me.
Beside me James digs in, omitting his cutlery and napkin.
"James" I hiss at him, and nudge his arm.
"What?" James mumbles with his mouth full, making me sigh

I indicate to his napkin and cutlery.
James gets the hint and fixes his manners, before turning back to me
"Better?" He sighs softly
"Much" I respond, pecking his lips softly before turning back to my food, however I notice Pipers disgusted face towards her brother.

"What Piper?" James sighs, seeing his sister's reaction
"You're such a pig. How does anyone put up with you, especially Riley" Piper snaps
"It's called love Piper. Not that you'd know about that, look around sis, who's willing to put up with you?" He responds smugly towards Piper, who looks hurt by his words.

I see the tears in Pipers eyes as she stands up and runs off
"Piper!" I call after her, as does the rest of her family, minus James
I shoot James a disapproving look before standing up
"Riley, you don't have to" Debra insists, also standing up
"It's fine" I sympathetically smile at her, before going after Piper

"Pipes? Sweetie it's Riley, open up" I say softly, stood outside a locked stall
"Is James with you?" Piper asks, slightly choked up
"No, I dashed off before he could even think about it" I giggle
Piper unlocks the door and I immediately embrace her
