Gordie and you have been best friends forever, but you could never compare with him and Chris. You sheepishly admit that you got jealous at times.

Honestly, you weren't sure why. You knew about Gordie and Chris being like two peas in a pod. Maybe it was because you liked him...a lot.

"Y/N? What're you thinking about? Is it bad?" Gordie snapped you out of your thoughts.

You looked up from the binder paper Gordie handed you,"Huh? Oh no, it's perfect, like always."

"You really think so? Geez, thanks Y/N." Gordie smiled proudly and looked over his story.

"Hey Gord? Can I tell you something?" You gathered all your courage and took a deep breath.

"Yeah, of course." He said absentmindedly, not giving you his full attention.

You pursed your lips before confessing,"I like you."

Gordie smiled,"I like you too! We're best friends!"

"No, I mean more than a friend." You blushed furiously and gathered your stuff. "My mom's probably worrying, I'll see you later."

Gordie stopped you,"Y/N..." Before you climbed down the tree house ladder, he placed a quick kiss on your cheek.

Your eyes widened in surprise and you let out a soft laugh.

"Get some, Gordie!" A couple of voices laughed hysterically in a nearby bush.

You and Gordie, who had joined you now, looked and saw the other three boys.

Chris and Teddy were laughing their heads off while Vern had his hand clamped over his mouth.

"Come on guys," Gordie whined and kicked the dirt. You stifled a laugh and nudged Gordie over.
