You weren't surprised that Eyeball forgot your guys' one year anniversary. He managed to forget every one before that. To be honest, you forgot his actual name. ((HELP I FORGOT))

You and Eyeball were just hanging around Castle Rock, like how most of your dates went.

"Y/N, there's Ace. I'll be right back." He pressed a light kiss to your cheek before jogging over to Ace. You sighed and watched the two of them converse.

Ace kept glancing over at you worriedly. Eyeball was practically tugging out his hair. You wondered what was making them freak out like this.

Eyeball clenched his fists as he made his way back to you. Ace rolled his eyes before sticking a cigarette between his teeth. And with that, he walked away.

"Sorry about that," Eyeball scratched the back of his neck.

You shrugged it off, but it still occupied your mind,"It's okay."

"Y-you sure?" Eyeball smiled nervously.

"Yeah," you nodded and flashed him a smile. Eyeball exhaled and let his shoulders relax.

"Wanna just head to your place and watch a movie or something?" Eyeball laced his fingers with yours a little too tightly.

You were surprised at this sudden change of plans; and his grip. Usually, the two of you would scare off Eyeball's kid brother's friends. Or, check out the ice cream shop. Basically, just wander town in search of something exciting to do.

Nothing exciting happens in Castle Rock.

The two of you walked in silence to your house. Your parents didn't really approve of Eyeball, but they were rarely home anyway. They were always at work. As for Eyeball's dad, well, Eyeball wanted to get out of his house whenever he could.

You dug through your pockets for your keys.

I should really start carrying a bag around... You reminded yourself.

Eyeball coughed loudly. His cough lingered more than it should.

"Are you getting sick?" You pressed the back of your hand to his forehead. He seemed fine.

"Choked on air, that's all." He cleared his throat and tried to play it off. You furrowed your brows and unlocked the door.

"Surprise!" A few voices shouted from the living room. Before you could even process the surprise, balloons and confetti flew into the air.

You laughed and turned around to a smiling Eyeball,"What's this about?"

"One year anniversary, babe." Eyeball grinned and lead you inside.

Ace and his fellow Cobras were there surprisingly. They were messing around, like usual.

"Sorry we didn't invite more people. They kinda dropped out last minute." Ace lit another cigarette and blew smoke into the air.

"It's the thought that counts," you smiled and turned your attention back towards Eyeball. "Is that what you were so upset about?"

"...Maybe..." Eyeball sheepishly confessed. "I just wanted something big for our one year. I know I'm kinda a lousy boyfriend, so I wanted you remember our one year as something awesome."

"Aw, even if we just watched movies or hung out, I would remember it." You assured him.

"Really? I was just thinking about how I should impress you with---" Eyeball began to ramble.

You pressed your lips to his,"Shut up."

He smiled into the kiss,"I love you, Y/N."

"I love you too," you kissed him one last time before skipping over to the food table. "Let's eat some cake!"
