Chris Chambers. Your enemy. The person you hate the most. To be honest, you never knew why you hated Chris. It all started when you joined your brother, Gordie, in the treehouse.

You followed closely behind your older brother. Gordie did some weird knock on the treehouse door.

"Hey guys! I brought someone along!" Gordie looked down at you from the top of the ladder. You smiled nervously up at him. The hatch opened and the two of you entered the treehouse.

"Well, hello." A boy with glasses greeted you first. You waved shyly and examined the other two boys. One of them was staring at you like he's never seen a girl before, the other was staring at you like he's already seen too much of you.

You frowned and sat next to Gordie. The boys talked about nothing, and purposely left you out of the conversation. You sighed.

"Here, Y/N. Go up first," Gordie gestured for you to go up the treehouse ladder. You shrugged and did as he told. You did the secret knock and entered the treehouse.

"Oh, it's just you." Chris scowled as you took a seat on the floor. You stuck a tongue out at him.

"Hurry up, Gordie! I don't want to be stuck with him." You tried to open the latch so Gordie could join you. But, the door wouldn't budge.

"You're weak," Chris swatted your hand away from the handle. He tried to do the same, but couldn't get it open. "What the---"

"You two need to become friends!" You heard Gordie shout from the ground. Teddy and Vern agreed.

"What?" You and Chris shouted in unison. Great, you were stuck with the person you hated the most.

"We'll let you out when you two make up." Gordie's voice became distant and you heard their footsteps retreat. You scoffed and folded your arms.

"It's not going to work," Chris shouted and groaned.

The two of you sat in silence. Maybe this was a good idea. You always wondered what you did to Chris. Why did he hate you so much?

"This is your fault," you muttered.

Chris rose his brows,"My fault?"

"Yeah, if only you weren't so annoying." You stated.

"Hah! As if. If only you let me win our arguments, this wouldn't have happened." Chris smirked.

"You expect me to give up?" You scoffed.

"I expect you to stop being a pain in the ass," Chris leaned forward to look more menacing. Two could play that game.

"You're the pain in the ass," you retorted and stood on your knees to look down on him.

"I hate you," Chris scowled and stood on his knees as well.

"I hate you more," you narrowed your eyes.

"I hate you the most," Chris furrowed his brows.

Before you knew it, his lips were pressed against yours.
