Little did Willa know that Micky was nothing like her in that respect.
He knew when to give up and when to keep fighting, and this was one of those times that called for the latter.
Willa figured that she had time to kill, so she got up and began searching for a melancholy doo wop record to listen to and drown in her self-pity. As she flipped through her record collection, she wondered why she hadn't cried when she found out about Davy.
She did know about Linda and Davy's previous relationship, but she had no clue how close they were. Apparently close enough for him to cast Willa aside like a broken toy two days after Christmas.
When she finally decided on a record, the sound of tapping at her window caused her to jump out of her skin.
Shaking and approaching the window ever so slowly, she made her peace with god. Surely, this horrible night had morphed into the last night of her life. An axe murderer had to be waiting for her to open the window.
