Chapter 10: Artefacts?

(Marco's POV)

I walked through the door of the Titan's tower behind Zach. As soon as we get into the tower, the disco lights and music started up. A few hours later, the party was in full swing. I looked around to fined that other super heros had turned up. Batman was leaning on a wall and Wonder Woman was talking to Stella, Mable and Avery about other female heros. Starfire's name was mentioned more than once. Then, a ding was heard from the elevator. I looked over as the door opened and out walked Nightwing, previously known as Robin. He walked over to Zach and Avery. He called over Batman and Wonder Woman. I could tell that this was a private conversation. So could the others as they started to head back to their rooms. I decided to grab Star and go to my room, but I then realised I hadn't seen her since we got back. I headed towards her room. I walked up to it. I didn't bother knocking as the door opened. I looked in and saw Star sitting on her bed. She was rubbing her cheek which was swollen and red with her hand. I walked in and sat next to her and put my arm around her shoulders, using the other to rub her cheek. She winced as I put my hand on it, but calmed down a few seconds later. "Does it hurt that bad?"

"Yeah it does."

"Im sorry I couldn't do anything. I'll kill Jinx next time I see her."

"It's fine, I got my own back, so you don't need to go on a murderous rampage."

I chuckled. "Come on, let's see if we can do anything about this." I gesture to her cheek. We stand up and walk across the hall to Ravens room. I knock on the door and it opened. Me and Star walked in to see Raven reading on her couch.

"What can for you?"

"Well, Star got hurt by Jinx during a stand off. I was wondering wether you and your spell's could do anything."

Raven put her book down and gestured for Star to sit next to her. When Star sat down, Raven rotated Star's head so she could see the swelling. "Yeah, I can help you. Star, lie on the bed." Star did as requested. "Now, I wouldn't do this normaly, but you've known Zach and Avery longer than anyone here, and any friend of theirs is a friend of mine." Raven smiled as she placed her fore and middle fingers on the small of Star's back. Then her eyes started to glow white. She started to float a few inches above the floor as Star's swelling went down. Suddenly, Raven fell and landed on the floor as Star got off the bed. I help Raven up. She had her hand on her cheek as it started to swell and turn red. She waved her hand over the swelling and it disappeared.

I gasped. "Does that hurt?"

"Only as much as it hurt Star, besides, I've absorbed broken limbs in the heat of battle before, that was nothing."

"Well thanks, come on Star, let's leave Raven in peace."

Raven nodded then went back to her reading as we left. I then felt my pocket buzz. I took out my communicator. Zach was calling us all to the main room for a meeting. As we all arrived, we noticed that Batman and Wonder Woman had left. Nightwing was still there, shrouded by his cape. His voice was gruff and somewhat lower than expected. "Ok Titans, I got a transmition from Tamaran just a few hours ago saying they had intel that a human artefact that we had put there for safe keeping years ago is going to stolen tommorow. It said it needs us to go there to protect it."

Zach pushed a button on the console in the middle of the room and a rocket emerged from the water surrounding the tower. A long walkway extended to the ship as we all walked along it. When we got to the rocket, we all took our seats as it took off. Star looked rigid, so I grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. She looked over to me and gave a weak smile. After a few hours, we reached Tamaran. We stepped off the ship and Zach, Avery, Mable, Dipper and Stella collapsed. Cyborg started to smirk.

"That'll be the Tamarainian fire air." He turned to look at me and Star. "Hey, how come you aren't affected?"

"This air closely resembles the air on my home planet of Mewni."

I smirk. "You get used to it."

When all the gasping and moaning had died down, we headed to the castle. When we got nearer, Beast Boy Started to smirk. He tapped Nightwing on the back. "You better make sure that Cyborg doesn't shake any hands while we're here." Robin punched him in the face. Zach and Raven chuckled. As we reached the castle, a royal guard came and greeted us at the gate.

"Greetings Titans." He narrowed his eyes when he saw Nightwing. "And other."

Nightwing scowled. "So nice of you to remember me after all these years." He put on a Starfire voice. "Keeping those axes sharp I see."

The guard leaned in. "How dare you mimic our queen. I will feed you to the rock monster."

Nightwing leaned in closer, his nose almost touching the guards. "I killed him, remember, or where you too busy keeping a grudge."

Daggers where flying between the two. Zach pulled Nightwing back and Avery ran between them. Zach had pulled Nightwing back to the group and was holding him there. Avery was talking to the guard. "We received a transmition demanding we arrive to protect an ancient artefact that we placed here a few years ago."

"Of course, head on through."

We walked into the main hall and saw at the end a throne with Starfire sitting atop. When we got close enough, we all bowed. Starfire stood up. "Welcome back friends, and Robin."

Nightwing turned his face to the side. "Good to see you too Queen, and I go by Nightwing now."

She walked over to him. "Of course, my mistake. I see you got my transmition?"

"No, I just came here because I wanted to see you."

"Really?"

Raven floated next Starfire. "Sarcasm Star."

"Oh. Nightwing, can we not let bygones be what they are."

"Humph."

Star turned around to look at the rest of us. "I see there have been new additions to the Titans. Who might you all be?"

"I'm Tae-Kwon-Dude, but you can call me Zach."

"I'm Ship Master, you can call me Avery. Im Zach's wife."

"I'm Dipper and this is my twin sister Mabel."

"I'm Stella, Zach's twin sister."

"I'm Marco. Nice to meet you."

"And i'm..."

"Oh, I know who you are, princess Star Butterfly of Mewni." She curtsied.  "At the castle, the royal family entertain and make deals and truces with many planets. Lately, we have been working on trade rights with Mewni. Your parents have been telling me all about you. It's so nice to meet you finally." She then turned to talk to the guard that had brought us in. He nodded. "Titans, my guard will take you to your rooms. Princess, you must stay." As the rest left, me and Star stayed put. Starfire looked at me confused. She flicked her vision from me to Star, then back to me. I hugged Star and gave her a kiss so Starfire understood. She floated off and came back a few seconds later. She gestured off to the left. We turned to the left and saw King and Queen Butterfly walking towards us.

"Star." They both said.

"Mum, Dad. Hey." Star ran forward and gave them both a hug. I followed behind Star.

"Hello King and Queen Butterfly."

The king came forward and slapped me on the back. "Marco, good to see you. Taking good care of my daughter I see." The Queen just turned her nose up to me. The king turned his attention back to Star. "What are you two doing here?"

Starfire came back and joined the conversation. "These two arrived with the heroic warriors I instated to protect the earth artefact that is held here."

The farther smiled. "So, you joined the Teen Titans?"

"No, me and Marco are on a holiday to see out friends, who happen to be the leaders of the Titans. But when we got there, we found out they were married."

"Oh, well, we have a contract to attend to. You go join your friends."

Star hugged her parents one more time then me and her walked of after our friends.
