Chapter 1: Birthday Surprise

(STAR'S POV)

I wake up like I do every morning and go downstairs. As I walk onto the stairs they creak, and I hear scurrying. I walked down the stairs and looked for the light switch. When they came on, there was no one there. I pondered on the bases of why no one was up at 10 in the morning. Then I realised it was Saturday. I went into the kitchen and saw that there was a stack of pancakes with syrup on the table. I looked at them, then realised how hungry I was and started to eat. When I had finished the pancakes I went to look around the house see were everyone was. I looked in the bathroom, the living room, the garage and the garden. The only room in the house that I hadn't been in was Marco's room. I hadn't been in there since I turned it into a black hole. I walked towards the door. I reach out and grabbed hold of the door nob. I turn it slowly. I hear it click. I let out a breath, then shove open the door. No one was in the bed. I hear the scuffling again. I run down the stairs. And flick on the lights.

"Surprise."

I was surprised, the Diaz's stopped throwing me party's everyday when I was 15 and they realised I would be staying for quite a while. Marco walked over to me. "Happy 19th birthday Star." He leaned in to kiss me then moved his head so I would kiss some cake.

We went about eating the cake. Mr and Mrs. Diaz had to go shopping so me and Marco decided to watch a movie. Suddenly, the letterbox clattered. Marco got up and checked the letter that came through.

"It looks like Zach has invited us to stay at his place in Jump City for a few weeks, he even supplied tickets."

"Cool, I'll grab my things and you can tell your parents and get us a cab to the airport."

I walked up the Stairs and packed Marco and my bags.
