Chapter 21: finale (part 4)

(King Butterfly's POV)

I see the gas cloud pull the trigger and I see Marco put out his arm, as if trying to connect with Star for the last time. There was a brilliant white flash of light. It was so bright I had to cover my eyes. When the light dies down, I open my eyes. Star is braced, surrounded by a bright blue orb. I look at Marco. He had his eyes screwed shut, and he still had his arm held out. In his hand he held a wand with a blue crystal on the top. He slumped to the floor and his hands fell by his sides. The orb around Star disappeared. She opened her eyes and got up. She ran over to Marco on the floor and hugged him. Marco opened his eyes and melted into the hug. They both started to to cry. "I thought I'd never see you again."

"I thought the same."

They pulled away and looked into each others eyes. Marco looks down at the wand in his hand. I bow. "My liege."

Marco looks at me, confused about my actions. I get back up. "Marco, you summoned a wand of your own to mirror Star's. That means that Mewni believes, for whatever reason, you have a reason to be Mewnian royalty. Marco, were you planning to marry Star?"

Marco took Stars hand. "Yes sir. In fact, I proposed to her right before this happened. I'm just waiting for an answer."

Marco got down on his knees and pulled out the ring. "Star, will you marry me?"

"Yes Marco. I will."

Marco put the ring on Star's figure. I went in and hugged them, followed by everyone else.

~Six months later~

I hold Stars arm as I walk her down the long Ile. At the end of the Ile was Dipper and Zach, and in front of them was Marco. In front of me and Star were Stella, Mable and Avery as bridesmaids. When we reached the midway, the bridesmaids broke off, and I saw Marco's face light up when he saw Star. We reached the end of the Ile and I let go of Stars arm. I have her a quick kiss on the cheek. The priest made a flashy ceremony. At the end Marco put a ring on Stars figure and Star did the same. The minister ended the ceremony and Star and Marco kiss. I tap Marco on the shoulder. Him and Star follow me out of a door to a balcony. I brushed him and Star towards the edge. A small man carried a box onto the balcony and opened it. In the box was Star and Marco's wands. Marco and Star picked up their wands and I brought both of them forward. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MAY I PRESENT FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, MARCO AND STAR DIAZ, THE NEW KING AND QUEEN OF MEWNI!"

The crowd bellow the balcony erupted into applause. I watched Star and Marco walk into the throne room and sit down. Marco took Star's hand in his. A guard walked up to Marco and bowed. "My liege."

"Please don't bow."

The guard got up. "Of course sir. What are you orders your majesty?"

Marco looked at Star. "Open the gate and let in the troubled. Let the ruling begin."
