There were kids there. It looked like a school trip. I ran to the nearest adult to ask what was going on.
"We were having I picnic up on the hill and it just went up!! There are still kids in there." The man told me. Without hesitation I ran to the back of the church. I busted open a window and crawled in. There were about 7 kids. I placed them as gently as I could out the window. I saw that Dally was holding Ponyboy and Johnny back. They wanted to follow me but he had a death grip on them. I got the last of the kids out just as the roof collapsed.
By some miracle I didn't get smushed and crawled my way toward the window. The rest of the roof collapsed. A falling peace of timber hit me across the back. I scream.
"Raya!!!!!!!" I heard Pony yell.
"I'm fine!!!!! I think!!!!" I screamed back. I shimmied out from under the peace of wood and managed to somehow crawl out the window. I fell into the grass coughing. Dally let go of Pony and Johnny and they ran over to me. I smiled at them. After that I was rushed to hospital.
I had a broken back. I didn't damage the nerve so I was still able to walk and I have severe burns across my arms, legs, face and back.
