Walking Away For The Last Time

I let you walk away from me

My eyes shine bright as I fall to my knees

The rain that falls around me chills me to the core

I didn't want to do this - didn't want to see you go but I know I can't keep you

I'm staring into the world with eyes void of any emotion

I am someone who will learn to live without her heart

I know there'll never be another time like this I cannot cope with the pain again

Maybe we can both find the peace we need without the other

Every battle we faced together couldn't beat the battle we had from within

That we simply weren't the missing piece for the other

Walk away from me now and I wish you all the joy you find

I will think of you in time and smile the softest smile

I let the tears mix with the rain drops and pray for the sun to never rise to see me like this

I feel the death-like grasp upon my torn soul drag me apart

Walk away take another step from me

Never look back do not see me like this broken and beaten

If I ever cross your mind think of me well

Think of the time I made you laugh and smile

I shall remember you in time giving me the strength I needed and will be thankful for that.

So fade away from my memories now

Leave me to my sorrow and my sleepless nights

Leave me be for now
