The misunderstood man stood in the rain as his eyes look down lost in prayer
The need for redemption whispered on every breath
He stood tall the strength he possessed hiding the weakness and vulnerability in his heart
Was it so wrong that he wanted to embrace his humanity?
Wanted to remember what it felt like to not to be hated for being someone he wasn't
He lived a lie, hid behind a facade of what he should be and not what he wanted to be
His blue eyes were haunted with ghosts of those he'd taken away their lives in the name of what he was told was right and true
His world was closing in on him and there was nothing he could do to stop it
Living the lie was getting harder,
Looking over his shoulder for the ghosts of his past was getting harder to do
He couldn't face the voices of his nightmares begging for him to be merciful
How could they not have not seen that he was broken deep inside?
He didn't want to be the monster but the man
Maybe even the hero they needed a man strong to stand for what he believed in
