Misdirecting the pain is all I can do now
Betwixt the smile and laughter the vacant space remains unspoken
I stand as I can unafraid of shadows, resolved to let all I am go
Yet with one flash of pain I drawn asunder and cast into stone
Unfeeling behind the mask tormented and fractured
Truth is my crime and honesty my sentence
For I kneel at the target with eyes filled with anguish
A heart filled with remorse and let the masqueraded crowd
Caterwaul at my false belief and tarnished innocence
To be all that could be, to have hoped and to be denied
To have loved, lost broken and renewed
I am almost like the daybreak afraid of dusk
Incomplete and whole for one part is missing from me but taken
from thee also.
