"Shane, pay attention. You can talk at lunch," I said as I smacked him across the back of the head. He reached over to my desk and put his hand on my thigh, smirking at me. I pushed off his hand and smirked back at him.
We were watching Gone With the Wind in History today. I was actually looking forward to watching this movie. But all Shane wants to do is sit in the back of the classroom and make out. Yes, he was my boyfriend, but sometimes he is just so perverted.
"Come on babe. Half of the class is making out. And the teacher's not even in here," Shane whispered to me, placing his hand back on my thigh. I pushed his hand off again, shooting him an angry look. He put his hands up and turned back around to the movie.
I turned my head, slowly looking around the room at my peers. Every one of them was making out with someone. Except the kid in the back corner. Joey. He was known as the school nerd. He sat in the back of the class, his face and black rimmed glasses illuminated by his tablet. Poor kid was probably taking notes. I turned my head back to the screen and continued to watch the movie.
After class, I was standing at my locker when Shane came up to me.
"Hey babe."
I stayed quiet as I pulled my books out of my locker.
"Are you mad?"
I turned to him and smiled, still not saying a word as I leaned against my locker. Shane leaned in to kiss me until I hear someone thud against the ground. Shane had out out his door and tripped Joey. He was laying on the floor, tablet clutched in his arm. Shane leaned away from me and walked over to join his buddies, who were gathered around Joey. They began to kick him and hit him, Joey crying out in pain. I shoved Shane out of my way and walked over to Joey. I leaned down, outstretching my hand towards him, trying to help him up. He was shaking, but took my offer to help him up. I turned to Shane as Joey began to pick his stuff up off the ground.
"Shane, that was uncalled for! What has he ever done to you?"
"Why are you sticking up for the nerd?" he asked with a laugh. I walked over and punched Shane in the arm.
"Don't let me catch you hurting him again."
"Alright, fine. I gotta get to class."
He kissed me on the cheek and walked to his next class with his friends. We didn't have the next class together anyways. I turned to find Joey still picking up his books. I began to help him pick up his stuff. When I looked up at him, he weakly smiled and picked up the last piece of paper. We both stood up at the same time and I handed him his papers.
"Th-thanks," he stuttered.
"You're welcome."
He held out his hand towards me, a if he wanted me to shake it.
"I-I'm J-Joey."
I shook his hand lightly and smiled. I notice that his eyes were an amazing green color.
"I'm Mandy."
I pulled my hand away from his, him pushing his glasses up on his face.
"I hate how they treat you. You shouldn't have to deal with much more of it, okay?"
"Thanks M-Mandy."
"What class do you have next?"
"L-literature."
"Me too. Come on, I'll walk with you."
"Y-you don't have t-to. I-I know you wouldn't w-want to be seen with a n-nerd like me."
