After class, at lunch, Joey and I sat at the table he usually sat at. I kept his hand intertwined with mine. I ate my pizza with my other hand, until something unexpected happened.

Tammy and two other girls walked up to me, a smile splashed on their faces... Something was up...

"Hey Mandy," the redhead said to me, still standing.

"What do you want?" I asked, looking up at her. She began tilting her plate until she completely dropped all of her food into my lap.

"You...bitch!"

I jumped up, knocking all of the food off of my lap. I picked up some of the noodles and threw them in her face.

"Mind telling me what the hell you threw food on me for?!"

"Since you asked so politely," the redhead said, picking spaghetti noodles out of her hair, "it's because of Shane. I can't believe you're cheating on him. And publicly, no less."

"Shane and I aren't together anymore."

"Because you're a whore."

"Don't talk to her that way," Joey said deeply, pulling me behind him.

"You're just as bad."

Suddenly, I saw Shane running over towards us.

"What the hell Alyssa?" he asked, looking at the redhead.

"I'm not going to sit back and watch you be cheated on."

She pulled out her phone and started a video. He pushed it away and scoffed.

"I've seen it already. And you know what? I'm happy for them. Mandy and I are still friends and I'm not happy that you're fucking with my friends."

She looked at him and smiled.

"So you're available?"

I scoffed along with Shane.

"You're out of your damn mind Red."

"Don't... Call me that."

"Then get the hell out of here."

She stomped away, furious, another girl and Tammy trailing behind. I saw Tammy turn back to me and give me a weird look. She mouthed 'I'm sorry' and continued walking away. I turned back to Joey and Shane.

"Don't worry about her," Shane said with a smile. "She's a fucking nutcase."

"Is she the one that kept trying to steal you from me last year?" I asked.

"That's her."

"You want to sit with us?" Joey asked Shane.

"Sounds great."

I rearranged the stuff on my plate and looked at my outfit. Now I have to change into something.

"Where is my costume from earlier?" I asked Joey.

"I put them back in the drama room, why?"

"I'm going to go make some adjustments to the outfit and change into it."

Joey placed a light kiss on my lips as I turned to walk away.

I made my way to the drama classroom, knocking on the door before I barged in. I heard Ms. Clara's voice as I took a step in.

"Come on in," I heard faintly.

I stepped into the room, looking around for Ms. Clara. She came out of the prop closet, smiling as soon as she saw me.

"Mandy! To what do I owe the pleasure?" she said happily, walking over towards me.

"I was wanting to see if I could get the outfit I made for that thing in English and make some adjustments to it."

"Of course you can!"

She saw the spaghetti sauce that was all over my outfit.

"I can see that you need it."

We both laughed as I walked into the wardrobe closet and pulled out my costume. I went into the prop room, where the sewing machines were set up when they weren't being used. I pulled up a chair and began working on the outfit. I shortened the pants into some shorts and shortened the sleeves on the shirt. The shirt had a slight corseted design on the back and was frilly across the bottom. I took the frill off the bottom, leaving it bigger and a bit flowy at the bottom. Altogether it took about 15 minutes. As I changed into the outfit, I noticed that there was only 5 minutes left for lunch. I picked up my purse, put my clothes into it, and ran to the cafeteria, saying goodbye to Ms. Clara on the way out.

I walked into the cafeteria, seeing Joey and Shane laughing. Joey's high pitched laugh pierced though the loudness of the cafeteria. I couldn't help but smile. I walked over, smiling as widely as possible. I saw Shane hit Joey's shoulder lightly, looking at me. Joey turned, his smile turning into a smirk.

"Damn," Shane whispered.

"Shane..." I said, looking at him weirdly.

"I'm allowed to call my best friend hot, okay? That's a thing."

Joey laughed, standing to meet my gaze.

"You look amazing. I love what you did with the outfit."

"Thank you," I whispered, putting my hands on the side of Joey's face and pulling him into a kiss. It lasted only a few seconds, once I remembered we were in school. He smiled widely.

I think he still wasn't used to the idea of a girlfriend. Or the fact that he had one. I think it was a bit of a surprise to him.

I sat down with Shane and Joey, just talking. We laughed and told jokes for the last five minutes of lunch. The next class I had with Shane and Joey so we all walked to it together. It was gym, and I absolutely hated it... But as long as I had my boys.
