The next morning, I woke up on Joey's couch, our bodies intertwined with one another's. My legs were wrapped around Joey's so perfectly that I almost didn't want to move. I looked over at the clock. Almost time for school. I moved around a bit, jolting Joey awake. He opened his eyes sleepily and smiled.
"It wasn't a dream," he said in his raspy morning voice. Damn, it was hot.
"Joey, you gotta get up. We'll be late for school."
"Can we sleep in?" he whined, pouting his lips.
"Our presentation is today," I whispered. "We have to be there or we'll fail."
"Fine."
He groaned as we both sat up, still hugging on each other. I couldn't lean away from Joey. He was comforting, so gentle. But I stood up anyways, stretching and walking over to my bag. I pulled my clothes out, which were a mess, and grabbed my toothpaste and toothbrush. I turned to Joey and smiled, catching his attention.
"Where's the bathroom?" I asked sweetly. Joey walked over to me and pulled me into the lobby, pointing to the hallway past the stairs.
"Second door on the right," he explained, still talking in his raspy morning voice. I turned around to him and placed a light kiss on his lips. He smirked as I walked away, making my way to the bathroom.
After about 15 minutes, I had finished getting ready. I threw my hair up into a side ponytail and put on some mascara. I didn't really feel like wearing makeup. As I walked into the living room, I saw Joey putting on his glasses. His look was a bit too nerdy today. I walked over to him and laughed.
"You look amazing," he whispered to me.
My cheeks burned with happiness. I put my arms around Joey's neck and smiled at him. I quickly pulled his bow tie off and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt. He laughed at me.
"Why'd you do that?"
"Because you know how I like you to look," I said, moving my hands down to the top of his pants, where his shirt was tucked in. He jumped as I untucked his shirt. I straightened it and took a step back.
His hair...
I stepped towards him and threw my hands up to his hair, ruffling it. There wasn't as much hair gel as there usually was, so it did exactly what I wanted. I smiled at him, placing a kiss on his lips. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close to him. I turned my head, deepening the kiss, putting my hands on the back of his neck. I bit his bottom lip, causing his mouth to gape open so that I had the advantage. I could tell that he still wasn't used to kissing like this, but I still pulled him close to me. After a minute, I pulled back, leaving my hands around his neck.
"We have to go to school."
He groaned.
"Oh yeah..."
I picked up my purse and walked outside. I remembered that my car is in Tammy's driveway. Joey was trailing behind me, but stopped when he saw my expression.
"If we walk fast, we can get out of the driveway before she does."
Joey and I both ran over and got into my car. I started it quickly, getting out of the driveway before I saw Tammy.
As we arrived at school, Joey grabbed my hand. Would we walk in hand-in-hand? Should I? Would it affect my social status?
"Joey..."
"Mandy, say nothing. We are walking in, our fingers intertwined, like this," he said, lifting our hands.
"Promise me one thing."
