*a couple of weeks later, three days before having to perform our plays*

It's amazing how quickly someone's popularity can soar. In only a few weeks, Joey had become super popular, one of Shane's best friends, and now sat at our table...

I only really had a few problems with this...

Shane didn't spend time with me anymore. He was always blowing me off for Joey. And I had to finish everything for our play in Mr. Polin's class. The costumes, props, lines. Everything.

The day before mine and Shane's two year anniversary, I decided to see if he remembered. I was going to see if he wanted to go to dinner. And if he blew me off for Joey... I was going to break up with him.

I pulled out my phone as I sat on my bed, and dialed Shane's number. It rang a couple of times before he answered, laughing.

"Hey baby, what's up?"

"Hi Shane! Ummm, I was wondering... Do you want to go to dinner with me tomorrow?"

He stayed quiet for a moment.

"Shane?"

"Yeah babe? Sorry, I didn't hear what you said."

"I asked if you wanted to go to dinner tomorrow."

"Of course I do. It's our anniversary. I was going to call and ask you."

I smiled widely.

"I can't believe you remembered."

I heard him chuckle lightly.

"How could I forget you?"

I began to laugh.

"Too cheesy?" he asked quietly.

"Way too cheesy."

"Why did you think I forgot?"

"Well... You've been spending a lot of time with Joey," I put my phone down on the bed and turned on the speaker. "And I thought you were gonna blow me off for him again."

"Again? I've done that before?"

"For the last three weeks."

I twirled my thumbs around each other, moving my hands nervously.

"I'm sorry babe."

"It's okay now."

"Well, I'll talk to you later. I have to help mom cook."

"Okay. Bye Shane."

"I love you."

"Love you too," I said lightly as I hung up my phone.

I sat on my bed for endless hours checking Tumblr... It had been a while since me and Joey hung out, so I wanted to see if he wanted to come over. I texted him because I didn't feel like calling. Thank God he finally got a phone.

'Hey Joey. Wanna come over and maybe practice our play?'

After typing, I went back to my computer, waiting for an answer.

BEEP!

'Yeah, sure. Lemme just ask my roommate to borrow his car and I'll be there in a few.'

I smiled and put the phone back on my bed. I laid my head down across my keyboard, lightly closing my eyes every few seconds.

The next thing I know, Joey was shaking me awake.

"Mandy?"

"I'm up," I groaned, sitting up in my bed and shutting and moving my computer.
